Not the original 'original' films.
Episodes 4, 5 & 6 were released on DVD, but in their re-mastered format, with some scenes changed and extra footage.
Whats being released on DVD is the films as they were originaly shown in the cinemas, first time round, without any scenes such as Greedo shooting first!!!

OMG!!!!! I KNEW he'd cave in one day!! They'll have the RIGHT *OLD* Anikin at the end again, instead of Hayden looking like a sinister ghost!! But...wait, in the new dvd releases of 4, 5 & 6, they fixed the horrible blue screen! as much as I don't like the Jabba scene etc I was relieved when I saw the blue screen fixed... tough one...

I think they'll probably clean up the footage for DVD release, like they did for the re-release of the original films at the cinema. All the extra footage will be gone though. Yay!

Yep, before the three new films came out they re-released the original trilogy at the cinema. Think it was in 1997

The JUB JUB SONG WILL BE BACK! I loved! that Jub Jub song, and when they took it out of the final for that wanky ending thing i was totally devastated. I did like the original ones better. Yeah, even with their poor blue screen issues and the thick black lines. I grew up with it like that, and when they changed it, it kinda took away from my experience of seeing it in the movies. I would much rather have that version than the remastered ones.

Yay re: extra footage gone, but I remember for the cinema rerelease, I was agog that the bluescreen hadn't been 'fixed', while all this other stuff had been added. It wasn't until the Tril was released on DVD that I noticed it'd been fixed. And all the little additions made to the DVD-release. I wonder if they'll keep the 'real' Emporer Palpatine in Empire? They didn't have to change the dialog there, did they? I wonder why they did...they should have just gotten the regular Emporer to do the old lines. Or if they'll keep 'young' Anikin showing up as a ghost at the end of Jedi? We need a 'make your own New Hope DVD" kit where we can pick out which bits we each individually liked and keep them As long as they still have the storm troop smacking his head on the door, I suppose I'll be happy ;D

They're going to make two series.
The first will be animated and will probably continue the Clone Wars cartoons.
The second will be live action and will be set between ROTS and ANH (eps 3 & 4)
