What are your veiws. If you dont know what airsoft is, its like paintball but they shoot tiny little plastic bb's. Its alot cheaper than paintball.
War sucks, we all know. However, fake wars can be highly beneficial to oneself. You learn leader AND followership, teamwork, ethics, and you get a physical work out while doing so. Sure the paintballs leave welts, but chicks (at least in our iowa school) dig that.
so what are your veiws on this sport.

chics dig welts? well, I'm a chic. I most certainly don't dig welts. I really don't see the point in paintball. We used to have people come around to the office, trying to get everyone to go out and shoot each other at a paintball park, and everyone would just stare at them...as much as my work colleagues annoy me occasionally, I don't feel the urge to ever go shoot them. However I guess for some people, it's recreation... Just for me personally, it's not. There are many other ways to gain leadership, teamwork and ethical skills. Much less violent ways. At our school, in year 11, everyone went on a leadership camp out. We had a couple of days camping out in the middle of nowhere, then had to navigate our way back. You really got to trust people you'd never have talked to at school otherwise, plus it was beautiful outdoors, finding your way through the bush. Friendships were forged on that trip that lasted the rest of high school.

Completely agree, Min. (Except, of course, that I'm not a chick ) There are enough shooting games for people to get their kicks on the computer - leave the real life exercises to those in the military. Obviously if people want to go and pretend to be soldiers, we can't stop them (and I wouldn't even bother, anyway), but if war sucks, why pretend you're in a warlike situation? Doesn't make much sense to me.

most of the guys i know who play are in civil air patrol, the marine explorers or army rotc. we all know we're all going into the military, except for this one kid who can't get past 2 push ups, and walks the mile, ect... i understand what your getting at but 3 years ago in missouri i went to a flea market with my cousin and bought 2 $4 dollar airsoft pistols, we had lots of fun chasing each other round the deck. later that week, my uncle came down and introduced me to paintball. i almost p!ssed my pants that first game but it sure was fun. anyways, i know for a fact that the marine rotc at our school has paintball outings every so often, kinda like we go flying. yes, war sucks, but our groups play so that if we do get into something later on in life we have a better understanding of whats going on and what to do, though one can never be fully prepared. I play because it is fun, me and my friends have a great time and it brings us together, allows us to work together and such. Today my dad bought himself an airsoft shotgun and i used my DE. we had a hellava time tyring to outsmart each other. Also today we filled up the CO2 tanks and we're gunna buy paintballs tomorrow. you pickin up what i'm layin down? You guys have a great argument, i will still play though. C/AMN Steven Athas Edit: Also for those who care, here are some pics of us PB'ing and Airsoft, I'm the tall skinny one. with the hat on and (they are so mooshlovely) color changing glasses. The first one is me and my friend brandon after paintballing, obviously. he got me in the wrist, and i painted his head. The rest of them are of me and some buds from CAP playing airsoft with my freind brandon, find him, and also a neighbor kid far right. i belive these pics to be cool with the message board lore. in size and stuffinz

I love playing lazerforce I've only played a few times, because it's expensive and my friends don't like to play. Actually I really only played when one of my friends was dating a guy who played every week. Anyway, I thought it was heaps of fun and I was actually alright at it (I came 2nd on my first go )which is rather unusual for me as I'm hopeless at sports. I guess all the sneaking around satisfies my childhood fantansies about being a spy *lazerforce is were you have the lazer gun, and this weird t-shirt thing that picks up and scores the 'hits'. You run around in a maze were everthing is painted black and with minimal lighting and sneak up on people/make alliances/break alliances/triple-cross people .

You could afford to play airsoft. it is freakishly cheap, you can get a decent pistol off shortyusa.com for 20 bucks and 1,000 bb's will run you about 1.53, last time i stoppped at walmart.

I found that muh more of a "tag" game than a war game, with lots of "oooo, I'm running round in the dark and I don't know what's going on! Eeeee!!!" and laughing than shooting each other. I don't like either of the other two games because they look like they hurt, and I don't do voluntary pain

Well, I'm not sure about paintball, but laser skimish is great fun! Especiay when you shoot team members....in the back......and blame it on smeone else......and they beleive you......even when your not on their team.......and go on a 'truce' like I did for Rancideggpile, if any of you remember him.......it worked so well........heh heh heh,.......even when he saw me with it pointed at him a second before I pulled the trigger......

I prefer BB (airsoft) to paintball. Its much more realistic. Trouble is you usualy have to supply your own weapons and they can be expensive for decent ones
