RULES
#two teams of three are formed, with one team member of each as a team captain.
#the boardmaster announces how many words in the song's line, and how many of these are skips.
#the team whose turn it is may:
*guess the title of the song
or
*choose a number of the words in the song line to be revealed
#if the song title is guessed correctly that team then has a chance to sing some lines from the song, one of which must be the line on the board. if the team has not won, their turn ends and its the other teams turn.
#if the team chooses a number then that number word of the line is revealed. if its not a skip, the team then sings some lines from a song with that word in it, or passes. if they do the former they then repeat the third step. if the line of the song to be guessed/revealed was sung then all words in that line are revealed. if the chosen word is a skip then its the other teams turn.
#skips are common words such as 'the', 'of', and 'and'.
#teams members may confer by pm. only the team captain posts game choices/guesses, with one exception. she/he may ask (by post) another team member to 'sing' the song lines.
#the board master is some one who secretly chooses the line from a song, posts the number of words in it, says how many skips are in it, says if the team guesses correctly or not, et cetera.
#after a team has won the new boardmaster is captain of the winning team, or another team memebr nominated by the captain, if she/he accepts.

ORIGINS
this game was played on an irish tv show called The Lyrics Board. there were 2 teams, each of three ppl. each team would take turns. a line from a song would have been chosen secretly.a board would display numbers is numeric ascending order from one to however many words in that line of the song. a team won if that team was the first to guess the song from which the song was taken, and also sing that song. on a turn a team could guess the song title at the start of their go. if they guess incorrectly 'control of the board passes to the other team', its the other teams turn. if the team doesn't guess the song, then they may instead chose an unrevealed word from the line, by saying its number. that number is then revealed. that team then sings some lines from a song with that word in it, or passes. if they fail or pass its the other teams turn. if they succeed then they may guess the song title or choose another word to be revealed. if the lines from a song that is sung after a word is revealed from the song, is the same as a line from the song that is on the board(the song that if u guess it u win) then all the unrevealed words are revealed. once all words of the line have been revealed then each team takes turns guessing the song. a team must guess the song title and sing lines from the song in order to win. if the team does only one of these, they don't win and this is like to help the other team. if both teams give up the round ends. there are also words called skips. skips are common words like 'the', 'of' and 'and'. if the chosen word is a skip then its the other teams turn.

Guilds
i was thinking maybe this game could be used as a way for guilds to compete and earn points.
each team could be made up of members of the same guild.
as well as scoring guild points from winning, the boardmaster could also ask a bonus question to do with the song/artist/band. most of the time there probably won't be enough ppl on fron the same guilds tho.

would u like to go for it (guess the title)? (boardmaster asks if team 2 would like to guess the song, as all words of the line of the song have been revealed)

(team 2 would usually also sing a few lines from the song to win. but they already have so they win.)

i modified the first and third posts to make it clearer. if iv time ill try to figure out a better way of explaining the rules. im very busy at the moment with work and college. i usuallly get about 7 hrs sleep (am seriously sleep deprived). i finish college in 6 weeks time. i realise that i did go on a bit in the first post, and the explanation wasn't very good. the best way to learn is to see it, like i did on tv.
