Just a-wondering - how do you spend your net time, and how long are you usually on the net for? Personally I usually log into hotmail & Obernet as soon as I get to work. Even if I close the window straight away, the magical cookies retain my login details for both so I can come back to the sites any time I want. As well as that during the day I'll be on the Autodesk sites - the support or knowledgebase or discussion forums...for work issues. Once any immediate work stuff is done, I 'do the rounds' - check on here, on LJ, Proboards Support board, etc. And if I'm bored at work, I dive into the Dining Hall for something fun to do. Just like I have now

I can't use the net at work unless it's after 9:30pm or before 7am, so I generally only use it at home. My computer is nicely placed next to the phone and across from the TV so I have it on whenever I'm doing those two things. The amount of time I spend on the net is much more than I prob should.

If I'm at uni, working on an essay, or at home during holidays, or a day off or whatever I often stay online all day.
I log into MSN (at home, anyway) and leave it logged in, whether at the puta or not. Unless other people (Dad or Bro) are home and might use the puta.
I always have at least 3 windows open on my browser when online: Here, LJ Friends list and my inbox I refresh them all regularly, if I've seen everything.
I stay online with those windows open whatever I may be doing on the puta (so if I'm writing, or working, or just generally surfing the net.) Always those 3 windows. Sometimes I close my inbox cos there's a button on my browser to take me straight back there already logged in.
I clicked 6-10 hours. But not every day is that long. Just a lot, especially on hoildays or if I'm at uni doing essays.

i live on the net for most of the day. I have to use it for work purposes anyway, so i may as well do my own surfing on the side

[mystics]I use the net a lot more now that I'm at uni, as I wasn't allowed to use the net at work (when people were looking ) A lot of my time is taken up doing research, checking out my uni learner site to catch up on on any notes I've missed or reading electronic journals when I can't get to the library. I ahve to say that I really believe in the internet as a learning tool. I come on here in between other stuff, if I need something to entertain me, have a break or have a sudden idea. I also use the internet to find useful/interesting facts or prove myself right when my friends and I are/ have been talking about film,tv, books, music, general knowledge etc!! (You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff I had to show my friend to prove that Leslie Nielson and Steve Martin weren't the same person, and I wasn't just pulling her leg : [/mystics]

i put 2-3 hours because generally thats all i can manage before being told to go do something else... but unlike the rest of you i dont have research to do... i find that msn makes time fly i love being on msn and ober.net... which makes things worse because often they come before homework...

Some of us have to use the net FOR work, so that's why that many hours was included A lot of international companies do their dealings online now. EG - Autodesk - all our support questions to the development guys and registration issues go via India and Singapore. Much easier online than phoning them.

well here's something funny, it won't LET me vote.
If i did it would be the 6-10. It's not always the case, but a lot of the time i'll leave my Jasper on with ober open, or msn on, and i'll go about doing things, and come back every now and again to see what's what. or i'll be watching telly with the internet on beside me.
I was on for about 12 hours yesterday.... actually, more. I turned Jasper on at 1130, and i finally turned him off at 2am. Now he's back on....
oh ye gods i'm an addict....

No idea, i select, i hit the "submit vote" button and nothing happens. I think it's just a case of computers hating me again. they do that a lot. We walk a very fine love hate line....

No, the same thing happened to me. I tried about three times to vote and there's just no response to the button. I've always been able to vote in polls before. I'd probably be on somewhere between three and six hours a day, depending on whether I'm working or whether I've disciplined myself to go out to my non-internet computer and get some writing done.

If I'm at home, the internet is logged on throughout my waking hour; I check my mail, smh, lj and ober.net regularly first thing but not before assuring msn is on. If the internet isn't on, then I'm not home. If msn isn't on, it means I'm on the internet somewhere else Like work (But on my lunchbreak or when on hold)
