So Who's Minding The Fort?
For a couple years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep and too much pressure from my job, but now I found out the real reason I'm tired because I'm overworked.
The population of this country is 237 million. 104 million are retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work. There are 85 million in school, which leaves 48 million to do the work. Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, leaving 19 million to do the work. 2.8 million are in the Armed Forces, which leaves 16.2 million to do the work. Take from the total the 14,800,000 people who work for State and City Governments and that leaves 1.4 million to do the work. At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals, leaving 1,212,000 to do the work. Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons. That leaves just two people to do the work. You and me. And you're sitting here reading this!

thats pretty funny. England has 237 million? THATS funny, especially since Australia only has about 20 million in the entire COUNTRY and i think it was that England can fit 5 times (or somrthing) just in my state!

Yep, we have a smaller country, but many many times the population.
The current population figure for London alone is: 7,465,100
Sydney only has a population of 4 million, and your capital, Canberra seems to only have a population of 309,500!
Neisha: Its for the population of the US. Current figures are:
US: 295,734,134 UK: 60,441,457

That's cause Canberra was built cause Melbourne and Syndey kept fighting over being the capital. Canberra was built in the middle of nowhere, they built the lake everything. It's been planned from start to finish and it's pretty but a bit fake. The view down the centre stip from parliament house down ANZAC parade etc is cool.
Mostly, people who live in Canberra are public servants and Kayt, Flit, Turks... I mean, there are other people, but Canberra doesn't have a very diverse range of jobs.
Hehe, Australia : 20M. So tiny... When I was in China I was in the capital of the province that was the second largest city in the province, and it was 10-11M. Beijing and Shanghai have about 20M+, so all of Australia in one city!

Apparently we're slowly starting to increase our population though, I heard we're now expanding faster than China, but I guess their one child policy would prob have something to do with that. We'll never catch up prob but I like our little population! We have lots of space, it's hard enough finding carparks as it is!
