I searched 'Elspeth' on google a while ago, came up with lots. Turns out elspeth is a real name (this I didnt know) and there are plenty of elspeths.

The music was a little creepy at first esp. since i was playing rock music on my computer i thouth it was going haywire. Hmm I thought elspeth was made up. Tis cool it is a real name. ;D

elspeth is a minor character in the enid blyton adventure series, she features for about two sentances in the first book. she was also a character is umm what was it called, anyway it was the story of the real sherlock holmes, ie. conan doyle rather than his character. doyle fell in love with the girl called elspeth and she had big teeth.
so yeah not made up!

no elspeth is a real name, my step sister had a friend called elspeth and there was a woman that worked in student services at my college called elspeth. its apparerntly a scottish diminutive of elizabeth, which means "pledged to god".
im calling my firstborn daughter elspeth, after my older sister who was stillborn called elizabeth not just due to my love of obernewtyn, though at first it was that.

Yeah theres a doctor in my old home town called Elspeth. She's kinda a natropath but not a very good one, or a very good doctor. I remember i had a tic in my back and she got it out for me and yeah she had no idea what she was doing, not a very good bedside manner either. Hehe how much fun is ranting??

Solen is an alternative of 'Solon' - It's greek and has meaning of 'the wise one ' or the general notion of 'wise'
Elspeth an dirivitive of 'Elizabeth' and/or ISOBELLE - Meaning of 'Consecrated by God (Lud)' - Consecrated means make or declare sacred to
Glynn from Glenna - Of Irish Origin meaning from the Valley or Glen
Dafydd - Welsh origin and it means 'Beloved'
Dameon - The name in OC is a cross between the names 'Daemon' meaning - Guiding Spirit - and 'Damien' meaning - True Friend. (A very fitting name for the character)
Matthew - Of English/Hebrew origin and means 'Gift of God'
Ariel - Of Hebrew origin meaning 'Lion of God'
I'm sure there are lots of other names I could look up but there are the main ones... The only one that has eluded me so far (and I've looked EVERYWHERE for it) is Rushton... The closest I've come is a Greman name of 'Rush' meaning - Elm Tree, Excitable... It doesn't sound right though!

I don't that I'd call Rush excitable either. Boring would be more appropriate. But we'll save that debate for the approriate thread. Still, he's hardly the type to get excited. Can't really see him jumping up and down in joy, can you?
As for the meaning of Dameon. I think that can leave us in NO doubt that IC chooses at least SOME of her names for their meanings!
