At school one of me mates started this debate, and most people seem to say it is part of the egg, but some disagree. I personally say it's part of the egg, but I wanna hear your thoughts. This is a debate so get firing!
(P.S. have you ever seen a chicken popping out eggs without the eggshell!?)

Sometimes the shell is really spongey and soft because the chook hasn't been getting enough calcium.

I would say that the shell is part of the egg, in the same way that skin is part of our body.

I've been getting adds all about Jack Sparrow recently. Even an add to buy his boots! lol.
If the shell isn't a part of the egg...then what is it?

If the shell isn't a part of the egg...then what is it? I dunno, but quite a few people i know tend to think it isn't part of the egg, and it gets quite annoying having these arguments in the middle of class, but it's also funny. Who knows

the shell is part of the egg! have you ever seen an egg just after its been hatched? because then the shell is sorta like a really thin skin on the egg that you can poke holes in and stuff. but it hardens up.

Oh well Stephen, people are allowed to have different opinions on things. Do they say why they disagree?

Post by Never Undressing Sneer on Mar 17, 2005 10:16:17 GMT 11
yer, make them give a reason for why they think it isnt.

Post by Stephen on Mar 17, 2005 18:47:03 GMT 11
No they had not reason, either that or they wouldn't give it. I know they are entitled to their own opinions, this is just sposed to be a bit of fun.

The chicken and the egg question is easy is you're a fan of evolution.
The egg came first because the creature which laid it didn't have to be a chicken... it just had to be a creature with similar genetics to a chicken. Like cross-polinating flowers until you get a new variety.

Like cross-polinating flowers until you get a new variety. That's still a problem for some people because not everyone believes in evolution.
