Yay! I skiied for the first time in my entire life today. I fell over a few times, crashed into a net, crashed into a ski instuctor, nearly dragged my ski instructor down the run, knocked over a snowboarder with my arm (HE CRASHED INTO ME I TELL YOU!!!!) but apart from my sore, aching limbs, managed to survive. To those who have never skiied before, it takes alot of persistance but it is a lot of fun. To those expert skiiers- I truly envy you. After 4 hours of instruction, I can go, stop, snowplough, steer left (but not right for some reason) and fall off the chair lift (unintentional). Probably the worst part is when your in a group of struggling adults and you see these 5 year olds who are skiing perfectly (and fast too) on the run next to you (grrrrrr). All hail.... THE AUSTRALIAN SNOW SEASON!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

I went skiing as well, for four days at Mt. Hotham. Lots of snow up there, it was great!! And it only took me one day to remember how to ski again, and soon I was going a hundred miles an hour down blue runs And on the last day, my ski fell off when I was on the lift, and my ski instructor had to go and get it. It was funny ;D

I went skiing in year six for a school excursion to this place which I can't rememvber the name of (damm memory!!).
If I can recall correctly I was skiing down the hill thinking: This is pretty easy, I am pretty good at it, when suddenly my legs just kind of buckled and I went tumbling down the mountain.
When I reached the bottom I thought that I was dead, and when I think about it now I guese that thought was pretty lame.
The only upside is that I got a free orange juice for bearing the pain.
I haven't been skiing since.

How is the snow at Thredbo? At Hotham, it's great and at Buller it is alright but what about Thredbo? ? *vows to go to thredbo during snow season* Oh, here's the real debate- is snowboarding better than skiing? ??

Snowboarding sucks!! Sorry, but it does. Whenever I go skiing all I ever seem to see is beginner snowboarders falling OVER A LOT!! Like they just spend their whole time on the ground, and always seem to be the ones that fall over getting off lifts. Like I have nothing against good snowboarders, but the beginner ones are a distaster waiting to happen. And Innle, I'm not sure what the snow at Thredbo is like, but its a really great place especially if you are a beginner. They have heaps of green and blue runs, where at Mt Hotham something like 35% of the runs are black runs which I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.
