HOW COULD YOU FORGET CANBERRA!!! HONETSLY!! SOME PEOPLE
IT'S THE CAPITAL BLOODY CITY!! BLAME MELBOURNE AND SYDNEY IF YOU WANT TO, THOSE WERE THE SNOBS THAT FORCED FOR THERE TO BE A SEPERATE TERRITORY!! AND IT'S BLOODY PLACEMENT!!!
okay okay, calming down now but honestly, bloody irritates me, i mean, i've only been living in Canberra for nearly a year now, but before that i liced outside for over 12 years, and explaining it to people was difficult
Flit: I live just outside of Canberra
Stupid person: where?
Flit: Oh, along the Federal Hwy as you come in, bout 30mins out
Stupid person: no, i meant Canberra....
Flit:..... it's only the capital city YOU DRONGO
Stupid person: isn't that Sydney?
Flit: *hits person over the head with a stuffed llama*
frustrating, very very frustrating....
and why did NT get mentioned when i;m next to positive they have a smaller damn population!! (actually they don't unless you go by %areadensity )
sorry Dark One, you've just hit a long and suffering nerve that poor little nerve..... Canberra only exists when politicians get mentioned, and they always blame the city for the problem..... *grumble grumble* and it's a pretty city! *grumble grumble*
i think i need some timtams... *goes in search of timtams*

I guess they should expand Canberra on the maps. I tend to think of Sydney as the capital (and i did geograhy at school!), only cos it seems to be the most prominant city in the media

I think Alice Springs should be the capital it's in the centre so no one can complain about who's closest and who should be the capital but then I guess Canberra wouldn't have been established. I don't know if they'd be able to expand Canberra...I remember from studying it that it was this state built entirely to be the capital, in this circular structure with a whole heap of architects in on it. Sorry about my lack of info on the Reason Canberra Is though, maybe one of it's natives will be able to elaborate... I do remember it being very cold in Canberra...

Canberra is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Incomparably beautiful! It's green and it's pleasant! It's organised! It's small and less scary!
It's a wondrous, marvellous place and I couldn't bear to leave!

Canberra was designed by Walter Burley Griffin, after whom our lake was named.

I have to agree, Canberra is a very nice city. I've been there quite a few times, and apart from the giant round-abouts, and my dad dragging us through the war memorial for 3 and half hours (Grrr! ) I enjoyed staying there......dispite it being so darn cold!

Actually, Canberra probably does get colder than Melbourne, it might not look it on the weather report, but we get a wind chill factor here that could freeze your socks off.... and then you would have to go in search of more socks as your feet will freeze.....
we are too low down to get regular snowfalls, but we do get an awful lot of sleet, and lots of frost... lots and lots of frost.... frost skating on the oval or frost angels.... as you can see i didn't have a lot to do on the farm as a child....
Brydz and Brownie down here, yay!! But it's a school trip so we won't be able to drag you away for coffee oh well
