Okay Cat:
1. Min has chosen life (for now) until she's certain of all the details, and has got her story figured out. 2. You are not locked in to any choice you make when you sign onto the project 3. You have to be YOU. You have to do what you genuinely, honestly believe you would do. If you think you wouldn't fight, then that's what you have to write about. Check the Ideas section of the site. 4. Yes, you can be blind. But, as you're you, you can't be blind from birth. You have to come up with some sort of scenario. Something that happened during the invasion that made you go blind.
Any further enquiries?
KSL (And yes, Clare. That was an excellent example)

Oh, last question, does it have to be my real name?

You can use a false name, as long as the character is still, basically you.

Kayt, you know I'm definately in! ;D I've so been waiting for this to start, and I can't wait! I'm gonna go properly check the site out in a moment, but I'm thinking along the lines that at first I might choose life, but then something's going to happen to make me change my mind.......just to make it interesting. Anywho, I'm off to properly explore your wonderful site.

I'm certainly not using my real name.... I just can't write my own name down for stories, it urks me out.... So i am now a stylish reported lady... what do they call us now-a-day.... embedded journalist... tehe, i always hated that term...

I can change my name! Yay and wootage! ;D I think I'll be Arna.
And I'll probably be "life". I don't think that I could actually let some one kill me if I could stop them.

It's so strange trying to write like myself...lol, that sounds really wierd, but it is. I've only ever written from the main character's perspective, and so i've written like they way THEY talk and act and think, or from a completely passive point of view. I sound so immature and childish when I try to write like myself.

Brydie, totally understandable. That's why i use a different name, it's too weird for me to write with my own. What you do, is you act like this is any other character you have ever written. But this time instead of having only partly your personality, it will have all of it. So, you make your character, you use it like you would any other, but then, when you come to a choice or a desicion, you choose the path you would take. There's your difference. It's certainly a challenge, but it is a good exercise. Writing yourself can sometimes be the hardest thing to do....
....well, i've always thought that....

I think it is really hard to write the way Obernewtyn is written, with the story being seen though one character's eyes. I think it's called first person, I'm not sure though.

Yeah, I was having trouble writing like me, except the good thing about Kathleen (my character) is that she's blind which means so much has changed I can just pretend she's another character who happens to act a bit like me. I mean, I'm not a nanny, so I don't know how I'd act in that situation, so I've just created another character who is blind and a nanny and I've given them my characteristics and sorta based on who and what I think I am.
But I think it'll still probably turn out not entirely me, but I don't know what I'd be like if I was blind and working for some invader, so it's as close as I can get it.
It doesn't have to be exactly totally and 100% you, cause some character changes would have happened since Australia got invaded. Some of your character traits might have been exaggerated or minimised, for instance I'm a fairly protective person. An invasion might make me more protective, or I could have gone the other way and not cared and lost all my protective-ness except for a few limited people. I would probably have gone the was of more than less, but you never know.
Hey, this is good, it's giving me ideas for character traits for Kathleen...

That's a good point Cat.
Real life Kayt and Freedom Fighter Kayt aren't exactly the same (but they are very very similar). Freedom Fighter Kayt has been through some stuff that has made her tougher and angrier. She's certainly braver than me!!!

im still trying to work out my character, but im going to be a very subtle freedom fighter, while keeping the enemy convinced that im a slave. theyve relocated me into canberra, and have made me personal assistant, to one high ranking member of the enemy, at night i also tutor his children. i also use my position to filter information through to connections among the freedom fighters

Argh, I know what you all mean, I'm finding it so difficult to write now...since I'm trying to base it on myself to enhance realism as much as possible. It's just scary to think of though, you try to imagine what you'd do in these situations and...it's just scary. Maybe I'll have to detach my LoF character from myself a bit more..?

I'm just kinda getting injured and insulted and trying to build up some of the characters around me. Especially James and the Boss, but to a lesser extent the kids and their step-mother...

I'd love to be involved.I did reply to something about this quite long ago, though I seemed to missplaced the board or whatever I posted it on. Anywho,It sounds constructive and I think someone should start a board or something especially for these types of questions and things.Like create polls, have a suggestions page, etc.ayaou know, stuff like that. Any way I sounds like great fun and I promise I'll give my own opinion when I feel like typing for ages and straining me hands.
