I'm a big fan of the TV shows "Doctor Who" and "Highlander" - the central characters on those shows have a certain wanderlust to them, so when I started posting on "Doctor Who" and "Highlander" forums, I posted under the moniker "Wanderer". And so I've pretty much carried that forward to other forums I post on.
My real name is Benjamin Orchard

ChristinA! I hate it when people drop the a... Some people it's ok, like if I've just met them, or my drama teacher last year just could not remember it, but she was awesome anyway. And her grasp of English was occassionally patchy anyway... But I hate that name... Which is why I'm Chris. Always Chris (or Cat-Eyes). I went through a bit of a Chrissie thing (which became Chrissi) start of year 7, but like a month in it was back to Chris. My new homeroom teacher keeps calling me Chrissie on the roll cause he's trying to remember what name to call people, and we all sorta start laughing... My name's the only one he keeps getting wrong, but it's so funny anyway, and he's awesome. I do however get a lot of being mistaken for a guy. Especially on MSN. Some guy who was in my friend's account was talking to me and I said my name was Chris and I went to school with her, and like 10mins later he's gone "Doesn't she go to a girl's school?" and I'm like "Yeah, genius. I'm a girl" In real life if I introduce myself as Christina and not Chris and they get to know me they're always like "You're so not a Christina..." I also now have the nickname X, which isn't too bad. I hate being called Tina though. And that's who my Mum named me after... Tina is the WORST name I can be called, it's worse than Christine... Cat

Tejane thought i was a boy cos everyong calls me Frankie Actually, I have to admit, that did have me confused for a while. I knew you were a girl, I was just always trying to figure out where the nickname Frankie had come from, until I learnt your name's Franchesca. ;D Cat

No, really, it's not... Tina suits some people, like the receptionist at my parish is called Tina and it totally suits her. But she's not like a girly Tina, i that makes sense. But Miska, do you think Tina or even Christina would suit me? (I'm asking her cause she met me) Yeah, just call me Cat... It's weird on MSN though. I'll be talking to someone from h2g2 and they'll call me Cat and i'll be like "Oh, yeah..." And I have heaps of trouble putting Chris at the end of anythign. My friends get e-mails saying Cat and I post on the Venturer forum and stuff with Cat at the end and I have to go back and edit it... ;D Cat

Well, I usually use Ethereal Deva, which I love the implications/meaning of, on the places I psot at, btu it seemed too elaborate when most peopel were jsut using their nicknames and such. I was goign to just use my nickname, but it was taken, so I decided to jsut shorten my posting name to Ethereal so it wouldnt sound so pretentious Oh, and jsut to catch up, I love Gambit and Jubilee.

I don't think Ethereal Deva sounds pretensious. I like all the names at Ober.net. I just chose Raineth because its my nickname, well most people now just call me Raine but I still get Raindrop occasionally. Raineth is my favourite, it s so horrible sounding in a way but I love it all the same. I was actually named after my mother and father. Being baby number eight I think they just gave up thinking about an original name. My real name is Lorraine-Denise Katy Mary Rose. No Kidding. Mum and Dad chose the first two and they let my brothers and sisters decide the rest. I personally think they should have let them choose the first two, but then I wouldn't be called Raineth would I?

my real name is Elsa........ it really sucks, but hey, someone's name's got to suck so it make other names sound kool............
i think my name originated from a book called 'born free'.......Elsa is a lioness........
Anyways, Elsa is also part of the Elizabeth family...... eg-Beth -Eliza -Elsa
i see no point in disguising your name...... especially if it's Jessica or something......it's common......(mine's not but i still use it.....don't tell me mum.....she won't approve....)

That can't be true.
Why would your parents give you a name that they didn't like?!

So where did the Raineth bit come from out of that name? Is it from Lorraine?
I like the name Elsa... I hate the name Christina but I get a lot of "But it's such a pretty name" and i'm like "But I'm not really your average pretty girl, am I?" and if they're being honest (and know me) they go "well..."

I like my name. It's a great name!
It is very common though. EVERYONE seems to be called Kate.
Just ask Flit about that!
