Okies just before my mum said to me...when will you grow out of little kid's movies (i was atching Mulan at the time)....And that got me thinking that I hope I never will coz little kids movies are awsome...funny and cute!
then I thought about Ober! Will I ever grow out of Ober? Then this thought came into my head! I am growing with Ober! But what will I grow into?
Will I grow sick of reading...spending time with peeps I hardly know? I THINK NOT!!!!
So I will grow more mature with Ober! friendlier, easier going, more out there!
What will you grow into with Ober?

Mmm.... I've tried to get out of the young adult fiction world for years.... but there are a few things that hold me there, Ober for one (write the damn book already!) Tortall another (dreadful writing, but it's hard to give up on characters you grew up with, you need to find out what they're all doing with themselves) and Harry Potter (but then again, most of the adults i know read this book, including parental-figures), until all these stories are done, and i am content, i am afraid i will be stuck in this area for a loooooong time. So growing isn't the option, it's the speed at which other people write.

I don't have that problem, since I read from a lot of different areas anyway. I read Harry Potter, Ober, Northern Lights, Farseer etc and Hitchhiker's Guide, Discworld... all kinds of stuff.
And my Dad's in his late 40s and he loves kids films. In fact, he doesn't like a lot of films, but he does love kids ones... (and things like Ocean's 11, The Italian Job, The Thomas Crown Affair...)

i hope i never grow out of them either. Kids movies are awesome! especially Disney ones (i watched Mulan last night too )
As for young adult fiction, i don't think i'll ever grow out of reading that. Besides, I still enjoy reading 'the hungry little caterpillar' and 'tom-cat lion'
And you know, i was thinking about that the other day too, Brydie...about how when i'm 20 or something, will i still be visiting ober? I hope so It'd be hard not to, i think, because i think of everyone here as friends, so..i wouldn't just want to stop talking to everyone. When i learn to drive, i plan on visiting people mua ha ha haaaa!

I thought I would grow out of ober before the series got finished and it used to make me sad but after my most recent re-reading I realised there was no chance of that and that I will always want to know what happened to the characters (esp Matty!) ... and reading them again is always very comforting since they're so familiar... I always read them in exams and stuff, very soothing! LIke your favourite soft toy! I think I have grown with Ober tho because I am definitely more critical of the books than I once was. I still love and adore them but I don't think they're flawless anymore and these days I notice the assumptions underpinning the novels a lot more (esp the racial ones) which, in a way, makes the novels more enjoyable cause you can understand how they work... as for kids movies I will never grow out of Disney! nevernever! or dreamworks. Will always love Monsters Inc! Mind you I don't like all kids movies these days... I watched peter pan with great anticipation a few weeks ago and was sorely disappointed by it... far too much Oedipal imagery.

Never Ever Ever Ever!!!!!!! If you like something, why stop? Just because a book is written for younger people it doesn't mean older people can't enjoy it.... If it is a good book everyone should be allowed to enjoy it. Just because a film is meant for children doesn't mean only they can watch it.... I love animate movies , if someone say it's just for kids, I say so what Love what you like and be proud.... it's better than liking nothing.

You won't grow out of Ober, Brownie, don't you worry. Just look at all the mother hens who first read Obernewtyn in secondary school and who are still reading it and talking about it now.

Never get sick of kids movies, especially ones like the Lion King and Mulan and the Little mermaid and Shrek and Finding Nemo and I could go on forever but choose not to I still think I can remember all the songs to all of those movies Specially the Lion King, Mulan and the end of Shrek!!!!! as for Ober I don't think I could ever grow out of a book I love so much! and Ober.net has been fantastic! I have so many friends here and it's just a great place to relax in! I mean here we can be as silly as we like (vegi throwing or Sus Rid) and if we have a problem there is always someone who knows exactly how your feeling to help out. What we have here is really special. Luv Tammy

The whole point is not to grow up, but to know when you need to be serious.
My favourite movies, books and tv shows are those made for the younger audience - like IC's work, His Dark Materials, Harry Potter, Shrek, Mulan (PANDA UP THE TREE = funniest thing I've EVER seen!). - Because they're fun. Most 'adult' stuff is so serious and cliched, and so full of s3x just to make older people think it's adult, you wonder how the characters haven't died of premature stress and manage to maintain their perfect bodies and faces. Young adult allows you to have fun, plus the most important thing - are written with VALUES!
Obernet...I've disappeared for months at a time, but I don't think I'll ever truly leave. There is definately something very comforting about IC's books, and this place. Whenever I used to feel homesick when I was overseas for that year, I would read Obernewtyn or Farseekers, and feel so much better.

Mulan?! I LOVE Mulan! Brownie, u could never grow out of liking Mulan ;D My worst fear is that I'll be older than Harry before the harry Potter books are finished, coz I've always been younger than his age in the book I'm reading for the first time But I'll never grow out of LIKING them, or Obernewtyn! ;D

LOL! I will forever saty a kid at heart & I know you all will too. I just don't want to grow up! I love MULAN!!! And shrek rocks too, as well as the other classics like lion king, mary poppins, etc. I always think I will never grow out a series of books I like, but I usualy find a series which is better. but I haven't found any series better than OC yet! which is slightly annoying becuase I find a lot of other books a bore now

When do u think u turn into an adult? I keep asking my sister if she's an adult yet (she's 18, turning 19). Is it 18 or 21, or when u feel like it? But I don't really want her to be, coz it means that we're growing up
