ok...I saw it again and...
I loved it way more this time... I tried not to concentrate on the things that were wrong and just tried to enjoy the movie for what it was and I was able to enjoy it way more!!!
I agree with you Min... The whomping willow scenes were stupid and could have been used more valuably.

well i think the only thing that i liked was the way they did the time thing at the end. they started off the movie way too fast - if i hadnt read the books i would have NO idea who that fat woman was (aunt marge) - and they were way too hasty with important patrts like mooney wormtail padfoot and prongs and that stuff. it was so obvious that it wasnt harry's dad, but harry, on the other side of the lake doing the patronus. and the stag...*moans...* and all harry and lupins little private talks! a bit dodgy! i didnt much like buckbeak and i still hate most of the actors, but at least this time the whomping willow looked a bit more like a tree. i also liked it when harry and hermione were hiding behind the pumpkins and hermione turned around and thought she saw something, and it turned out to be her...but thats all really!

it was good!!!! ;D but only if you forget about all the important parts they took out (such as the Moony, Padfoot, Prongs and Wormtail) and what they changed and the fact that Lupin and Sirius were meant to be hot!! grrrrr. but other than that it was good!! esp. the camera work, that was good the end was really bad. i was like 'oh, its over, ok' so when i can be bothered i have decided that im gonna write a new ending for the movie ;D oh, and hermoinie(sp?), that was a good punch!!!! that was the best part hehehe

I think it was great!!
I would have liked to seen something of Moody, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, but oh well!
I don't want to nitpick, because I liked it. I guess you just have to accept that not everything could be in there.
*sigh*
But Sirius REALLY ought to have been hot!

I really enjoyed it but there were some things that annoyed me. They needed to explain moony, wormtail, padfoot and prongs. Harry needed to know about his father, that is why the patronus takes the it does at the end. I liked it though. This director was really good and the cinematograohy was fantastic, really creative and better than the first films. However, they made the film a bit too funny, this wasn't right as the book is quite dark and serous. I also agree that Ron shouldn't have been used as comic relief. Otherwise the acting was better (though not too sure about portrayal of Malfoy) and the casting superb. I must admit that I was a bit skepitcal about Gary Oldman playing Sirius (my fav charcter) as he is not good looking enough in my opinion, but he pulled it off and played the part superbly. Cheerio Blessed Be Iris

LOL, everything everyone's said is SO TRUE! Great minds think alike... So rather than repeating it all, I'll just say it wasn't nearly as good as the book but it was a hell of a lot better than the other movies. The effects were AWESOME, even if they didn't stick to the book descriptions. The werewolf was soooo creepy!! Although, after a while I felt a little sick whenever the camera moved through a pane of glass...methinks they overused that a bit...but then, I honestly couldn't remember how it ended, so I was looking forward to that bit, trying to nut it out... Dare we think of how they'll mangulate the next book to fit it under 3 hours...? Lauren

I think Lupin was an attractive in an older guy type of way, he had some class, but u cant expect him to be like johnny or orli hot, that wouldnt work for the series. the guy they had was very english and hence had that osrt of thing going for him rather than a "im so hot look at me" type thing.
another thing is that he's harrys teacher, ur not supposed to be attracted to him (yeah hold the lockhard comments please)

Sirius is DEFINITELY meant to be hot! he was one of the best looking guys in his whole year at school, now he's meant to be very handsome. I think he would have been able to brush his teeth while he was in Azkaban!

I thought the movie was pretty good.Yes,It cetrainly was a lot darker that the first two and a lot more sophisticated and orginised. I also think the chatacters should of been in their uniforms a lot more than they were in the movie.Wnen I read the book I never thought of them out of thier uniforms! So that was a bit dissapointing. Alfonso whatsisname really changed the dialogue,so that was a bit dissapointing. But he did make a great film and I thank him for that. About Fred and George,I think they should of been in the movie a little longer, but their parts were O.K.They were small, but they were a major part in the film to introduce the mauraders map.(Is that how it's spelt?). Anywho,I thought it was a all round great movie and I couldn't of pictured it differently.

Elixa - Hermione saw herself,Harry and Ron. Also inside Hagrids hut, they were hit by pebbles which came from themselves. & Harry saw himself conjure the patronas charm.I used to think it was pat - tro - nas.And I thought Hermiones name was Hermone. Wierd.

I liked it because it was alot darker than the other two. But I'm weird like that. Although the first two were much happier and I loved that too. But Hogwarts was all different in the third one, so it looks weird compared to the other two considering that now Hagrid's cabin is down a slope hill thing, whereas before it was just a two second walk from the school, across a short FLAT stretch of grass? Argh! I hate inconsistencies!

I thought it was great. There were a few irritating bits, like not explaining bits and pieces. I would have had a problem if they had over explained it, but right at the end, just before lupin left,m would it have killed them for Harry to ask him "How did you know how to use the map?" "I helped to make it."
That would have given him the clues he needed to work out all the names....
... but aside formt that, i didn't have a problem! I loved the casting. The interaction in the haunted house btwn sirius lupin and snape was exactely as i had pictured the three. I watch that and it clinched it for me with the problems i had with Gary Oldmen.... i thought it was perfect
And i loved the womping willow bits with it smaching birds and stuff. There is an awful lot of comedy in the books, and an absurdity to the wizarding world, so that when this movie was getting darker, we needed a light relief, a reminder of that basic fact, and having the whomping willow do that stuff not only helped to show the progression of time, but it also added to the humour!!
I also loved the way they changed Hogwarts from the other two movies. They finally got it looking exactly the way i saw it. I always thought it would be better positioned in Scotland, with it being set on a mountain side, rather than that glamour look Columbus gave it.
I loved the movie, i think they did a really good job...if you hadn't already guessed...

Wow Flit, you're making me see it from an entirely different angle...I was all up in arms hating the movie until now.
That doesn't mean I'm still not annoyed at Alfonso Curon...did you see his interview in the PoA DVD? He wanted to make so many changes to the books and he'd never even read them. And it should have been longer...I don't think anyone would have complained at an extra 30 minutes to explain a few things, and to make the beginning seem more like a movie and less like a movie trailer.

Alfonso Curon sucks!. Personally,I liked the old director better.Chris Columbus was it? Anywayz,I knew the book would be more DARKER but not as dark as it turned out to be.And Draco was a wus. And I just finished reading the Barry Trotter books. They are awsome!!! If they get made into a movie(which I highly doubt) Alfonso Curon MUST NOT and i repeat MUST NOT direct it. He was horrible at the HP POA movie and I hope he dies!(of old age.....hmm..). About HP,the new characters introduced were great, and I though of proffessor Trellanwey(damm spelling!) as really good. That young chick who played her was really good at protraying the role of the Divination nut and I was quite pleased about that. As for Dorco(and no thats not a spelling error! I just love Barry Trotter!) he's supposed to be like 'I'm the best!!!' and he's sopposed to be mean. It's all Alfonso's fault! He turned Dorco into a wus.Thats another reason Alfonso sucks!!! Anyway, the whole movie was obviosly a complete success and I wish I was Joanne Rowling right now!!!! See ya!!! (I'm distracted by South Park on TV.Curse you TV!!!)
