no no, that's not a mistake ***POSSIBLE SPOILER**** If i remember correctly, Soonkar is, in fact, from our world. Ah yes, I remember that now, Arien. When I start forgetting things like this, I realise it's time to re-read the book in question. Ah well, I've almost finished Camelot's Shadow - perhaps a re-reading of Darksong is called for...

I've never read Darksong! *SHOCK* It's very sad. I need to stop buying other stuff! AUGH! Someday I'll buy the series. I just have a problem with borrowing books for some reason. My library card has only been used twice.

I KNOW! I hav to buy them these holidays, or lever my superdad's superhand out of his super-pocket with some super money it in! I don't know why I hate library books. I guess they're freakish because anyone could have touched them & picked their ear or nose with it, & all the pages are stained, brown or yellow. The books are usually the old versions & they smell funny too. They look wonky & freakish. I like having my own books coz no-one elses greasy claws have been on them except mine & my dog's when she raids my room.
WoW! I love ranting

There's something to be said for having your own books. I work in a library, which means I have a huge say in which books we buy and of course, they're all free for me to borrow and read. However, the other day, I realised I hadn't bought a book for myself for months. I really miss that experience. It's so much fun, picking out something that looks promising, or that has been recommended to you, and taking it home to revel in your possession of all those words... And you do find some odd stains in library books, don't you? Having worked in a school library for a year and a half now, I can tell you that those stains came from: dead fish, sandwiches, cheese slices, used chewing gum and whole host of other delightful things.

You never know what you'll find in the pages of a library book... and we're not just talking about words here. I would have mentioned the dead mouse, but I don't think that ended up in a book - it just sat behind the bay of lockers outside and generally stank up the place. Aaah, end of year hi-jinks - where would we be without them?

I think you're winning now, Elixa. An eye! Was it a chicken eye? Or something else? My morbid curiosity just won't rest until I know.

Ooh, I know! Going to refill the horseradish sauce, and there's all this oil floating on top that looks like blood!

Ooh - or, you're putting extra cheese on top of a lasagne, only to find that you've just sprinkled a whole bunch of green, mouldy cheese all over your dinner.

Or when there's all this oil floating on those meatballs, and when you wash the container out, it looks like pumpkin...and you get offered 50c to drink it with some sanitizer (no, I'm not THAT dumb)

It's always best to stay on the safe side. After all, who knows what you'll find in your strawberries with dipping sauce?

eeeeeeeeeek now that is a scary thought - because id still eat them anyway. esp if it was chocy dipping sauce!
well i have a general question (and i dont want to make a new thread- yes i hear u all yell) so i thought id add it here... mum was thinking of having a book for everyone to sign on my 21st. wat do ppl think of that...is it stupid and crappy or kinda funky? im thinking it'd be cool -esp when u go back to read it later..like i love reading old skool notes and random stuff...drunk ppl can b really funny too. but im not sure if its actually gonna be used, but frowned/biatched upon instead? suggestions/thoughts?

It sounds like a great idea! Especially if you could paste in pictures and things that will remind you of the event in your twilight years.
