Smitten with spring and the curiousity it brings!
What a wonderful two days I've had - lying in the sun watching the clouds float by in dragons, cats, anvils and possums. Leaves in my hair, warm breezes and stairs to skip down. Late nights in the library lugging gigatuan piles of books down to the photocopying room - much to the amusement of random passerbys.
Spring is my season. If I had a horse I'd be galloping from one rolling green hill to the next (with a bucket on standby for the enormous amount of sinus fluid produced from my horse hair allergy). If I had a beach, I'd be building sandcastles and throwing seaweed in people's hair (so... I have a slightly obnoxious sense of humour.. but it's the thought that counts!) T-shirts and bare feet and sun on my skin.
**breathes deeply**
Phwa.... need to empty my rubbish bin. Something is growing mould.

Hehe - now you've gone and made me feel all Springy, too.
Good luck with that rubbish bin.

Good things have been happening to me of late and I just wanted to share. * my Timothy got a job that he loves * we're going to move into a house with room for my piano!! ;D * I just got a pay rise that was back-dated to March (that was a very nice surprise!) So, despite the fact that I have a disturbing tax bill (thanks to my crappy bursar), I have a lot of other things to be thankful for. Has anyone else experienced some good luck lately?

Hey everyone, Glad to hear everyone's so happy I've got quite a bit to be happy about at the moment really: * I've gotten the promotion at work that I've been dying for. So when I get back on the 27th, I'm Client Tech Support ;D * I've found a NICE BOY. Yes, there was one out there - and he's mine!! * I'm going on holidays with this nice boy all next week - to the Gold & Sunshine coasts, me for a tan and he to surf. HOLIDAY HOLIDAY HOLIDAY! First break in 9 months (not counting my trip to sydney, since it was just for a weekend). * Today is my last day in my 'old' job ;D <-- biggest grin possible. * There's only 3 days until my best friend's bah-some wedding is OVER!

I realised that I haven't said anything happy.
Well, as I asked people to talk about triumphs, I'll give you an unusual one.
Some of you may remember my difficulties six months ago in forming a good relationship with my best friend's boyfriend.
They'd been going out for like a year or more, but somehow James and I could never get along. We didn't dislike each other, in fact, I liked him a lot, he's a great guy. According to Sophie, he really liked me too. It's just that the two of us could never strike up any kind of conversation or become friends. There was no rudeness or anything, but one of us always felt a bit 3rd wheely, and we just couldn't be friends, no matter how much we liked each other or how much we had in common (which turned out to be quite a bit).
I was always whinging to Sophie that I couldn't get along with him like I thought i should (and I wanted to), and she says he was always whinging that he couldn't get along with me. It was driving her nuts, because it was always "Does Kate hate me?" and "Does James dislike me or what?" and she was always "ARGH! NO! WHY CAN'T YOU TWO JUST BE FRIENDS!?"
So anyway, it was a big challenge for me and for him, but we really worked hard at it. We made a point of making conversation with each other, we tried our best to include each other so there would definetly be no third wheelishness.
Then we got a job working together, which meant he had to take me on a half hour drive across town every week. That did wonders for our relationship, because you just HAVE to find things to talk about.
Okay, so it helps that we work together, and that he always offers to beat people up for me, but I would definetly count James on my list of best friends, these days, which is absolutely amazing when I look back on the days of "Er... hi..."
This is great, because it takes the pressure off my friend, and she's so much better off knowing that her best friend and her boyfriend can strike up a coherent conversation, even if she's not there to mediate. And now neither he nor I has to feel like the other two are excluding us.
Anyhoo, that's my success story. If you work hard at it, you can improve your life and make things easier for yourself, and for others.

Thanks, guys! I'm rather happy about it. We're going in tomorrow to sign the lease and do all sorts of serious things. But there's a lovely backyard for you all to camp in when The Sending's launched. Some of you can even sleep in the garage. I hope everyone else experiences at least one similarly fantastic thing in the next week.

Links to piccy-pics, if anyone's interested. Unfortunately, there are no shots of the backyard you'll all be camping in. Once we move in, I'll rectify that. Pics of the Buneater's house
