We have the Bored Thread, the Rant Thread, well here is a cheerful thread.
I want everyone who visits this thread to think of a time when they found something really hard to do, but they did it anyway.
Maybe you got a job you really wanted, or scored a date with Brad Pitt. Whatever triumphant thing you achieved, share and let us all bathe in the cheerfulness of your success story!

Great idea for a thread, Kayt. The only things I can think of now are... 1. When I finished my TAFE course and was looking for a library job, I'd reached a point where I felt like giving up. I kept getting interviews, but no jobs. And to crown it all, Centrelink sent me a letter one day, basically stating that I was crap at looking for jobs and was required to attend training to do something about it. Well, I showed them. Literally days later, I went for an interview at a place with a really great atmosphere... and they gave me the job! Huzzah! Poo to you, Centrelink! 2. The second one is writing related. I kept on going all the way through the first draft of a book, even though at times I felt I was writing absolute rubbish. But I kept at it and now I'm able to say that I've written 145,000 words of a first draft, something I'd never achieved before. Now I have to overcome my fears and reluctance and write a second draft. Hopefully, that story will have a happy ending too.

Except i had a funny conversation with my friend via sms and it cheered me up and i'm hopefully not falling too far behind on my school work (been away from school for the past week ) because my friends have been sending it to me I hate getting too far behind. Catch up work is evil. oo, here we go, something good. My 1400th post yay

Thanks, Miska. I feel as though I need a lot of luck, so yours is much appreciated. And yay for you, too. It's not a pathetic thing at all. Sometimes, it's the hardest thing in the world to say 'no', so good for you.

help me im failing uni... i mean oh joy i get towork at coels for the rest of my life! Ahhh, don't worry Lix, I'm starting to feel that way too. By this time next year, I will have been employed by Big-W for 5 years, and I get a fancy little badge and a pen to show for it. *Full of sarcasim* Yay me. On a brighter note, I would have to say that my biggest achievment and happiest moment would have been the day that I got up at 6am to check my HSC results online, and discovered that I had actaully passed Chemistry. I got a 57, and it was all my own work! ;D Mainly because I couldn't copy off of my best friend...........but still ;D Buneater - Lots of luck for the second draft! I hope it all goes fabulosly! ;D Unykorn - Happy birthday for soon! ;D *Randomly decides to throw confettii everywhere.* ;D

hmmmm my happiest moment ever, i dont know really, though something ive worked really hard to achieve and succeeded at would have to be walking, i know it sounds really simple to you guys but when i was born the doctors told me that id be a vegetable my whole life, well they told my mum but yeah. and now im not just walking but i dont need a wheelchair, admittedly im using a walking frame at the moment, but thats only until ive gotten my hip fixed, and maybe my knee, if the hip surgery doesnt fix it too, so even the walking frame should be gone in a few weeks, possibly even before the canberra meet

Yeah, Talmina/Jess, I'll back that up! So you're in a walking frame now? But in Year 5, you were still in a chair, so it's a MASSIVE improvement! And now you're getting a new hip! Go you!
Also, good luck with the redraft, Buneater, and congrats everyone else too!!!

(I refer to the latest developments in the rnat thread) I'm also cheerful that I just got a new causal job in the field I want and I'm meeting the right people to further advance my career...
