Okay, so ever since she heard you talking about Sarah McLachlan, the faithful Kayty has been looking in second hand CD stores for an album.
But can she find one? NO!
I go into a second hand DVD/CD store everythime I pass one, and I visit my two local ones at least once a week, so you'd think i'd have come across one by now! But not even a single!!!
are they rare, or obscure? Should I be looking under a different genre?
Where do you guys suggest I look?

how dare they not stock the great, the mighty, the heavenly Sarah??? perhaps try different spelling. the last name's actually McLaughlin. doubt that would make a difference though.
i know they definitely sell her new and old albums at HMV

Mclaughlin, huh?
I just look under the 'M's so I still would have found it.
And they don't have it, because they're all second hand. I guess no one sells their Sarah stuff.
If I wanted a Scott Cain album, I'd be set! I found about six today!

ahh...Sarah, why do i love thee? let me count the ways...
-incredibly beautiful voice -incredibly good song writer -beautiful songs (beautiful person too) -rockin' lyrics -Silence is one of the best songs ever. here are some lyrics: Passion chokes the flower Till she cries no more... Heaven holds a sense of hunger and i wanted to believe but i get caught up when the rage in me subsides... in this white wave i am sinking in this silence
of course you have to imagine it sung with...hers is the type of voice that it beautiful but it has a slight gritty edge to it. in some ways it's jazzy in its breathiness but she doesn't really sing in jazz...a voice is so hard to describe. but when you hear it you imagine sinking into a white wave...
i ramble but she's worth it

I really like her too. I loved the song she did for Toy Story 2 (When Somebody Loved Me....Awww, so sad). I Love You is good too, oo and Ice Cream...teehee, like that one. If you can't find her album, I suggest that you discover the wonder that is Kazaa and download instead? Unless you don't like doing that, I know some people don't

Just come to Hamilton, and I think our only CD store sells her. And it's about $10 more than what you'd pay anywhere else! YAAAY! ;D

I LOVE SARAH! my sister does too. she saw her live in brisvegas. she's an awesome performer. this guy was all "ice cream ICECREAM! ICECREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and she goes "isn't that for desert?" so then he shut up. but at the end for an encore she and the band came back on with only the instruments they could carry and they all sang icecream. for fear it was all black and she starts singing the first verse (hitting every note). then the lights go up and she standing front center with her arms out. then when it's all 'but i fear' she goes and plays the piano.
fear was in the sandra bullock/ben afflect movie where the plane crashes and he needs to get to his wedding and she needs to go see her son.... yeah silence was in brokedown palace with claire danes (die ben lee heart breaking wench!) and kate beckinsale abou the girls in thailand who are sent to prison for drugs.
sarah and the above mentioned movies rock.

"Listen as the wind blows...from across the great divide...voices trapped in yearing...memories trapped in time... "The night is my companion...and solitude my guide...will I wait forever here, and not be satisfied?"
How Ober Chron is that?! I think that's why we have so many Ober fans who are Sarah McLachlan fans.
Kayt, you'll probably have to go to a bigger and new music store. I highly recommend Fumbling Towards Exstacy. Best Album Ever!

possesion. i think i demanded that as one of many sarah songs on movie page but yeah, possesion is the opening track from fumbling towards ecstasy. also surfacing is pretty good. i'm not sure about some of her new stuff though.... i always liked adia, silence and fear. the rest off surfacing and fumbling are wicked too though.

Ooo, I *love* possession. It was the first Sarah song I ever heard, on a tv series called Due South. It was on the series album and I just used to play it over and over! Then I discovered there were more songs (thankfully, or I might still be playing it over and over...)
But, yes, *very* Ober Min. "The night is my companion and solitude my guide" very Elspeth "You speak to me in riddels and you speak to me in rhyme" and "another day of knowing of the path I fear to tread" and...well, just the song!
I think "Lost" is a fitting song for Ober too. And her voice is very kind of...I don't know melancholy in a way I guess, like wind whispery which adds to the depth of her songs I think

A LOT of her songs fit Ober situations very well. Some very Kella-ish ones on Fumbling. Possession would have to be my absolute all time favourite song. ;D
