These are just some actresses that I like. My best pick is Laura Fraser though. If you pick My thought isn't up here! say who you think is the best.

ooh, i just saw some pics of Lauura Fraser, and she'd look alright as Elf in my opinion...but i still think she's not quite right....i guess no-one will ever be exactly right though

Absolutely. You'd want a complete unknown, someone without a huge profile or who's done a lot of work. That way, you can't say: well, last time, she played a fainting Austen-ish heroine in a period drama, how could she possibly do Elf justice?
I still don't know how I feel about an Obernewtyn movie. Too many conflicting feelings!

I don't think I could bring myself to watch it... Like a lot of books get made into films and you watch them and you go ' Wasn't as good as the book' But like OBERNEWTYN?! It's too close to my heart to have ANOTHER type of Elspeth and everything put in front of me... I'm happy just re-reading the books and being on here talking about them! ;D

As much as I might lament and rant and panic, even if I heard it was MEGA dodgy
I'd still see the movie. Just to SEE!

not liv tyler...she's fixed firmly in most people's minds as an elven princess by now. and she's just whisper her way through the whole thing like she did in LOTR...damn that was annoying....she looks a bit like my image of elspeth but...no, she's just not right.

LIV TYLER?! Nuh-uh, never. 1. She's too old. sure makeup can fix that, but no. 2. She's too famous. 3. Elspeth - wait, NOBODY, in an Obernewtyn movie can ever have an American or Australian accent. They're from Uropa = Europe. So unless Liv can put on a damn good accent...
Laura Fraser though - she's not mainstream but she's VERY talented - she's won a bunch of best actresses award in Scotland. And yeah, she's still too old, but she DID just play a 16 year old in "16 Years of Alcohol" (you're not likely to catch it unless you go to the Brissy international film festival).
I don't want to see a movie made anymore, I think I'd just cringe through the lot of it, but if I had to choose someone, it'd be Laura.
