Hm, here in Tas they have been showing double episodes of season 7. They're showing the season final (both parts) this Thursday. My grandmother and I are gonna make it a big night in!
So, if Michael Shanks is 'coming back' in season 9, does that mean he is out of it for season 8? Because I didn't much like season 6 without him....

Ah! I can see your confusion. At the end of the eighth series the whole cast wasn't sure if it would be there last. by saying he is coming back means that he will be in season nine. yes he is is season eight! wont be the same without jack though...

egads no! Jack is the comic relief! My grandmother is going to go crazy if Jack isn't in it. Just like I went nuts without Daniel...
But Jack is the main character (pretty much). Meh. Evil tv shows. I agree with my housemate that shows shouldn't carry on any longer than 7 seasons (but I'm just so hooked!)

Supposally 7 is going to show Atlantis sometime this year. They have cut so of the reference out it season 8 to it as they don't have a date to show it yet

(We tasmanian's have issues)

You know what seems dodge to me? Battlestar Galactica. There's about 40 minutes of drama, and 2 minutes of space action, the rest is credits and ads. There's NOTHING to do with space on that program. Yech, I hate it! It had such potential and it lost it in the first episode. My BF loves it and when he's watching it I seriously have to leave the room!

Well, there's Jamie Bamber... Last week's episode wasn't as good, but all the others have been good. I like how you're guessing about the cylons, and Jamie Bamber's so hot, and... I can't explain why I like it! (Aside from Jamie Bamber being gorgeous...) Cat

I think I like it because it's a just a lot of fun. And it's one of the only TV shows out there that doesn't have a at least one hard-bitten detective in it. Or a forensic investiation each episode. Or modern girls trying to work out what it is to be women in the twenty-first century...

Ah ok. I dunno, when I watched the first episode, I didn't know what was going on. There was a blonde chic, who was obviously bad, who was going around sleeping with everyone. For no reason. It just seemed like overdramatised bollucks trying to get people interested using this one character.
In the episode that I caught bits of last week, there wasn't one space scene. It was something about court. So it seemed a lot like every other criminal investigations show to me then...
I say, give us space ;D

The blonde girl you're referring to can only be seen by one guy. He has flashbacks to when he was sleeping with her, and she talks to him and stuff in the present time. The guy who can see her played Tom (the friend) in Bridget Jones' Diary.

Well what was that first episode about then? She was seen by some old guy at the start, and then she was there breaking a baby's neck, the people could definately see her then.

...Ok, maybe you're talking about another blonde girl... I didn't see the first night of the mini-series... Are you talking about this girl: www.imdb.com/name/nm1065454/She's usually wearing a red dress. Cat

Well what was that first episode about then? She was seen by some old guy at the start, and then she was there breaking a baby's neck, the people could definately see her then. Yeah, she was alive at that stage. Later on, there was a scene where she "sacrificed" her life to save the life of the guy she'd been sleeping with. I say "sacrificed" because there are fourteen versions of her around, or something. But the one we see most often is the imaginary one in whatisname's mind.

Dr something weird is his name...
SPOILERS: There are only 12 cylon models that look like humans. There's number 6 (the girl in the red dress), the guy they met at the weapons place, the guy they left there, and the asian girl. That's why, if you watched a current episode, sometimes you see her and this other guy (who isn't a cylon, they left him there in a sccident or something) on a planet and usually you see her on the ship. But the ship one doesn't really know she's a cylon. Although she's starting to think she is because she like woke up wet and had these charges and then later on the water tanks blew up.

OK, THAT makes more sense - of course, the robot died or whatever and hence became invisible! Nevertheless, thank you both for explaining that to me! *grugs*

She told the guy who can see her one time that she either implanted a chip into his brain one time when he was asleep, or is just a complete figment of his imagination...

I jsut can't bring myself to like Galactica. I love the original and was dubious as to how this version would go. I really tried to like it, but I jsut can't. I'm a bit of a snob about remakes/'reinventions' sometimes.

I've never seen the original, although I have read a couple of novelisations of some of the episodes. I hope they do broadcast the original series at some stage - it would be interesting to compare the two.

Eek. Sounds like the sort of show that's very hard to catch up on if you've missed the first few eps...
