... though on second thoughts I guess Max is kinda sorta apropriate. I just need a picture of him in his boat. Has anyone heard of Calico Jack Rackham, btw? I got to write a history essay on pirates in first year and I think I had more fun researching it than any in the years to come. Calico Jack was one of the most notorious pirates in the Carrabean in the early 18th century. Especially awesome was that two of his his crew (allegedly the fiercest) were (cross dressing) women. Squee! Unfortunately they all died young, as most pirates do.

Yeah, I know. And so many talented, interesting people died young!
I think many of the famous pirates were caught and hung in the end. However there is no record of Ann Bonney (one of the female pirates) being hung, so there has been a lot of speculation and historical fiction books written about that.
I learnt last year that a couple kids fron my year in highschool have died. It's weird. Very sad, dying that young.

Ha ha, after I saw Min's sig with the link to the dinning hall I knew what was donig on (after I posted this). But I don't think I'll be joining the lot of you... (a little to the left for me) although I will be laughing at you all.
Also Stargate ROCKS (in SA Channel 7 have it on at like 9.30 Thrusday or is that everywhere it just really bugs me). Jack is out for the next seasons and Sam will be out for a few because of pregency reasons so it will be Daniel and T'ealc for sometime. But thats next season.

Since we're in a piratical mood, I might as well recommend a book called Piratica by Tanith Lee. 'Tis the story of a girl who sets off to sea, following in the footsteps of her famous pirate mother, and who ends out finding more of truth and treasure. The last chapter is particularly suspenseful. Highly recommended for this most piratical of moods! And thank-you Talmina and Arien for your kind, sig-related comments. * blushes*

Buneater, in Pirates of the Carribean, didn't Sparrow say "where is the rum gone?" In your sig you put, "where are the buns gone?" I must be missing something

www.gateworld.net is a very good source and is where I found out about Sam being pregnant and Jack not being in it. It's only drawback is the episode guide doesn't go very far ahead of where we're up to because we're actually seeing it before america for once ;D

guess what, i FINALLY made myself my but whys rum gone sig im so proud of myself, though i would be prouder if id managed to get a digital camera to get an empty bottle of real rum *shakes empty bottle of bundy rum*, for some strange reason, the bundy website didnt have any empty bottles. i had to settle with bacardi im joining in the fancy dress party oh and dani, if you look at his hands in buneaters sig, it should explain a lot (hint: they look like they should be holding a bun)

Dont we all!
Jack is soooooooo much better then daniel! and close your ears if you dont want spoilers if u live in Tassie
how sad that selmac/jacob died. I loved them. On one hand I was really upset and on the other I was like HELLO at the jack/sam moments... I LOVE STARGATE! only 2 episodes to go... so sad... I was just reading that although Jack wont be in the next series but it is very possible that he will do a cameo.... or two because he is still a producer... So yay! How does he get out of the story...... OH! how romantic if he retiures to be with sam! if he had to go at least thats a good way!

I accidently hit post.... heres something that the site says. [Actor Beau Bridges will join the cast of SG-1 in Season Nine as General Hank Landry, who is hand-picked by Jack O'Neill to be the new commander of the S.G.C. when Jack is promoted to head the Department of Homeworld Security. (The fate of General Hammond, who held that position in Season Eight, is yet unknown.) Series star Richard Dean Anderson will likely not be a regular on SG-1 for the first time in the show's history. The actor has been reducing his role on the show since Season Six to spend more time with his young daughter in California, but may make guest appearances in Season Nine.
"[Anderson's] character is going to remain very much alive in the Stargate universe. He ... is going to be integral in commanding what goes on at the S.G.C. As to the appearance of Richard Dean Anderson in the series, that's really still undetermined. We are very hopeful that Rick is going to agree to participate in a number of episodes, but I have no idea as to how many or when that will be resolved."
Actor Michael Shanks ("Daniel Jackson") will return for Stargate SG-1's ninth season
yeah so I hope someoneelse finds all that interesting.../color]
