tyre! Smyre! Who needs a fourth tyre on their car?! I've watched those police chasey shows, they burst tyres all the time and drive along perfectly fine! Well, not exactly perfectly, but relatively fine (better than if you had just two) Save money, forget the tyre, it'll just be a little bit bumpier and noisier than your average drive.

la la la la la la I'm very very sleepy, but I can't seem to sleep. The rest of my family has already left for Melbourne so the house is empty and I haven't been able to sleep or get any work done either, which is annoying. I just seems so sureal with the house so quiet. I've tried leaving the tv or radio on but they don't help. *sigh* I've just been so insomniac-y since they left. The house is too empty.

i think it would be ok if the fines went to things like..... road repairs etc. the nasty thing is, most of the time, we cant be sure where the money is going.

Well, if i had a Reliant Robin, i would only need three tyres on my car. However, theres a certain undesirable image that comes with the Robin in the UK...

I sent it in to get the rear wheels aligned, and the garage couldn't align them. They told me it looks like the cars been in a few accidents in the past as there are quite a number of new components underneath! They told me to take it to a bodyshop, get it put on a bodyjig and check the chassis alignment! That'll cost me a fortune! The same thing happened to me when I had the VL. I went to get the wheels re-aligned like a good little citizen, and they called and told me the z-bar was bent. Probably from "hard driving" Can't you just say to them align them as much as you can? It won't be perfect, but it'll be 'better'? But all the other problems with it did you buy it through a dealer? Why can't you sell it privately?

I've been talking to the guy in our motorvehicle workshop today cos he was fitting some new tyres for me.
He reckons that the rear subframe is bent. It costs £400 for the part from VW and it costs about £1000 fitting. They can't align the rear end, so it'll have to be a replacement part.
Well, it was a dealer as such, it was a car supermarket. I wouldn't buy from them again though!
I don't really want to sell it privately as i'd really have to declare all thats wrong with it. I won't if it goes to a dealer. They guy fitting my tyres siad he'd give me £3000 for it, but to see if i could get more from the dealer first.
I shall take it in this weekend, so i'll let you all know how it goes

Squirt - it's 12 points 'til your license is taken away, I think. I don't have any points at the moment so don't have to worry *is smug* ;D
Argh, car supermarkets scare me...so many cars in one place! It's weird though, I've heard some quite good "reviews" from people who've bought from car supermarkets in the past. I guess £3,000 isn't really that good, but if it means you can get rid of it and get something that works instead...? Keep us updated!

Car supermarkets are basically large warehouses full of new or nearly new cars that are somewhat discounted

Yeah I think ours is 12 points - but you start with the points, and lose them. It sounds like you gain points for offences over there? DO, that's such a bummer

ok, i have a friend who went out with some other friends.......
to make this easier, theres an Al, Bo, Ca, Dj and F for friend.
Al, Bo(guys) and F(gal) all went out. Al told Bo that F likes him, but she doesnt like Bo in that way, she only like him as a friend. that night F hooked up with Dj but only got to second.
then for no apparent reason Al and Bo ar really angry with my friend, Bo doesnt want to speak to her again and Al is just really stubborn and wont listen to anything she says.
Later Ca tells Friend that both Al and Bo think that F slept with Dj one night then some completely different person the next (which, omg, like, NEVER happened.!.!.!.!.!)
and F doesnt know what to do about it.
can you please give suggestions!!!!!!!!!!
PLEEEEEEEASE
and i'll clear ne thing up for you if this is all too confusing.

I'm soooooooo confused (too many names!), i think I'm going to have to draw a diagram for myself
Edit: Ok, I drew myself a little comic and I think I understand. Bo and Al are both silly overreacting boys who will eventually get over it and listen. Maybe ask another friend of their's to casually mention that nothing happened. Not that it would matter if anything did! It's not like either of them were seeing F so they should mind there own business.
If i even understood it... I think i did

Yeah I think ours is 12 points - but you start with the points, and lose them. It sounds like you gain points for offences over there? DO, that's such a bummer Yep, we start off with a clean license. You get a certain number of points up to a maximum of 12 (which is when you get your license taken away). The points count for three years from the date of the offence, and then they have to stay on for a further year for 'administrative purposes'. You can then pay to have them removed! You can also recieve and instant ban for such offenses as drink/drug driving, speeding (over 100mph), etc Siryn: It all sounds like a bad case of jealousy to me. I'd just leave them to get on with it.

PLEEEEEEEASE and i'll clear ne thing up for you if this is all too confusing. This looks like an algebraic equation to me. If Al + Bo + F does not equal zero (equilibrium, in this case), I suggest you substitute BF1 for Al and BF2 for Bo, where BF stands for Better Friend. This should help things. Seriously, though? It sounds like the lads are being quite malicious and deliberately trying to ruin F's reputation. It seems that Al is the worst offender here, but I would just ignore both of them. Stop being friends - they're clearly not worth the effort. F could try talking to them, but I don't think that's going to work. If they want to act immature, then she shouldn't waste her time with them.

PLEEEEEEEASE and i'll clear ne thing up for you if this is all too confusing. Okay, this was quite confusing but I think I have some semblance of understanding of the situation. There is one thing that I'm not sure about though; whether the rumour that F slept with 2 different guys in 2 nights was circulated by Al and Bo. If not, and they just heard it from someone else, then I think perhaps Bo is slightly hurt because he thought this girl liked him and this makes him react angrily, perhaps because he feels overly righteous. And Al is doing what he thinks good friends do, which is to alienate the offender and 'take sides.' In which case, they probably need the situation explained to them by a third party after they learn to calm the hell down a bit. Ask them where they got their information from and work from there. They'll probably end up realising it was from a completely unreliable source. And then they apologise heaps for being stupid enough to believe a rumour about a friend and spreading it (even if it was in haste). Of course, their malicious gossip mongering could have been the answer to Ca asking them why they're mad at F. Whether the rumour was phrased as an "I'm angry at F because... " or an "OMG, did you hear about..." should really be cleared up too. The first being excusable, because it indicates that it wasn't spread to many people. Otherwise...major arse-kissing time. The other possibility is that they could have started the rumour themselves, which means that they should grow the hell up and learn that they don't live in an american teen soap opera where you can be dramatic and cruel to someone that you will probably have contact with in the future. Things like this don't often get forgotten and if they think that after a few weeks when they want to be friends again, they'll be forgiven upon presentation of some sugary speech, then they're deluded. That, or they need to go onto Jerry Springer to hear Jerry's sage words of wisdom at the end of each show. This is, of course, all based on whether or not F still wants their friendship. If she's decided that they're just not worth any effort then pfft! Why bother? Although, it might be easier on everyone in the group if it were sorted out civilly. *shrug* I'm not good with this relationship stuff.

Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance, my friend feels ok now, she's decided that if the guys are going to act this way, prehaps they weren't all that good of friends to start with.
So far: If they decide to get their shlt together, thats up to them. if they value the friendship, THEY have to clean this mess up. after all, they kina brought it on themselves for either believing in stupid rumours or for starting stupid rumours. the rumour itself....ABSURD!! (and you dont know how ironic this actually is).

This be a very happy rant! The Dutch local council elections were held the other week, but it's taken a while for the results to sink in. Firstly, massive losses to the Liberals and Christian Dems, as predicted, and massive gains for Labour and the Socialists, but I found the results in the council I used to live in, Haren, to be the most amazing of all. The Greens, my former party, took small hits across the board, which is to be expected when the national branch of the party swings to the right , but the local branches are quite different, so it is with some pride that I announce: In Haren, the Greens percentage rose by 8.8 to 23.8%, making them the largest party in the council! I don't quite think people appreciate the gravity of this, so I'll elaborate: Haren has always been known as a Liberal stronghold - the Libs and Christian Dems have ruled the council for ages and ages. The Liberals are ALWAYS the largest party there. It was one of 20 councils (out of almost 500) which actually voted FOR the European Constitution, simply because the Libs/Christian Dems supported it. Now it looks like a Green/Labour/ChristianUnion coalition will take over! Just had to share that little piece of joy with you!
