Well that would have been horrible.
But when you think about it that person gave you an opportunity to show how good you are and you took it up and impressed people! So well done you, not too many people would have been able to handle themselves as well as you did.

oh i know stephen.....i HATE dial up. Thankfully i haven't got it any more. I got broadband  ....but diesl up takes so long and when u post something on websites it just takes forever!

I think I used some words that were a little harsher than moron when I was out the back I was far more annoyed than I was bothered abotu the situation. I've dealt with worse before. It very rarely upsets me, just annoys the hell outta me. Especially when there are other customers waiting to be served. I have better things to do with my time than stand around beign abused, but sadly, it's unavoidable no matter what job you have. It jsut helps to have a rant every now and then so that you can reassure yourself that it's them who are the morons, not you. |

But you shouldn't have to put up with it! If someone starts going off at me, I just say that they have no right to speak to me that way, to call me back when they've calmed down, and hang up on them.
Perhaps in front of the person you could say something like this and then ignore them, calling the next customer forward or something.

Sadly it's easier on the phone, Min. You just hang up. With some customers it can get scarily abusive. I've had ones that stand right in your face, broaching all sense of personal space, and not matter how much you say "would you please leave" they won't.
Some people are just idiots.
Like that one *grugs Eth* you handled it brilliantly. it was only 10 minutes and he left despite his stupidity. i wish him many uncomfortable pants and he suddenly becomes alllergic and spends his days stratching his legs in painful irritation.
oh, and that he walks into a 2x4

well, they're actually advertising it for ppl who have actually, real, legit reasons for needing benefits not dole-bludgers and the like... (stupid dole-bludgers!)...
and speakin' of work-related abuse... sigh.... I'm Chinese and I had a customer come to me and start screaming at me, I took it for like five minutes then she started saying stuff like 'are you from Vietnam? Why do you go back to Vietnam where you belong?' and I completely lost it! I mean abuse, fine I can handle but racism!?!? STUPID, STUPID WOMAN!!! THIS IS A MULTICULTURAL SOCIETY GET OVER YOURSELF!... so I argued with her then threatened to call the cops and go the local newspaper about her comments... she left after that but was still spewing out bile... (shakes head and rolls eyes) some people....

And Kaylan, I agree, that doesn't sound like a very good name at all to me. Maybe you can talk them around. Or alternatively, if they leave you out like that and don't include you in decisions, it sounds like they don't respect you very much at all. Maybe it IS worth leaving, or at least explaining to them that you're feeling unwelcome in the group. Your friend might just have been in a bad mood when she told you to leave, so maybe you just need to explain to her that you don't accept being treated like that.

umm... first up what was going on inside you friends' brain when they decided on that name? Psychadellic Suppository?!?!?!?!? (can you say stuck in the eighties?). My advice talk to your friends individually b/c a lot of the times only one person is probably pushing for that name and the others just tag along to avoid conflict, make your opinions well know and see what happens.
As for your friend... well... if she really treats you like that 24/7 tell her to take a hike and find new friends. If not... demand an apology.

I have a stupid sore bit at the top of the inside of my mouth, flashbacks to having braces and it's KILLING ME!!!! OUCH, I'm only ranting about it on here because I'm stuck at work at 11pm, all on my own and there is no one here to complain to...and all my friends are out...together...without me  and I have a sore mouth, and dentists scare the crap outta me!
