Ohhh I think Id be pretty peeved to if that happened to me....

Now for my rant. I was in our school library during one of my free periods ("study breaks" as our principal calls them) and I was doing my maths homework when all of a sudden this teacher comes along and asks me and my friend to move coz he's got the area booked for his junior class (oh i hate them so)- note, this was some 20 mins after the lesson had began so Id just gotten comfortable. Then, we went to go to a seminar room, but then there was a sign not permitting us to enter due to HSC exams (which is totally understandable if there were actually exams on at this time) so we went in and then quickly came out once we read the sign. Next moment, I tripped on a stupidly placed whiteboard and nearly fell over- all the while my friend's laughing at me. Then we just decided to go into a seminar room coz we thought the library ladies who frequently sing opera couldnt get to mad at us...just so frustrated and this was horrible. I ended up only getting a little bit done and spent most of the lesson wasting my time....

This is a bloody horrible week. First there was the stuff with my Mum, then last night a bunch of stupid jerks threw rocks and smashed the bus drivers window so I had to walk home last night and thisafternoon my little sister was attacked by weirdo who knocked her down and tried to put his hand up her skirt THE I don't have words to discribe how angry I am. She THIRTEEN for goodness sake. WHY WON"T FRELLING BASTARDS LEAVE HER ALONE. She's recieved an extremely obsene phone call when she was 8, some old guy stuck his hand up her skirt on the bus earlier this year and now this. I HATE ALL THESE HORRIBLE BASTARDS who make her feel unsafe when she's out and I wished they'd go drown thwmselves or something. And there's nothing I can do but be angry and it's all so hopeless. She's so young and I don't know what to do.

Maybe enrol her in some basic self defence classes? That way, if anyone tries anything, she'll be mroe than capable of defending herself

It would be a good idea - but lessons cost money and she'd have noone to take her because my step-dad has the car for work from 6:30am-8:30pm, I'm bussing/uni-ing 6am-7pm and my Mum couldn't take her on the bus because she gets too tired. Also money's going to be even tighter, because my step-dad just came home and someone smashed into our car - the entire back window is gone and some of the side is really scraped. *sigh* This isn't our week. I feel a bit better now that I've seen my sister and given her a hug. She was at the police station for hours.

People like that should most definitely be removed from society. Self-Defense is a good idea, but expensive She might be entitled to victim counselling - which is provided for free, they teach you ways to be more assertive if anyone does try to do anything nad also help you to deal with what has happened.

Ooh, here we go. I have a rant!
Tomorrow I have an exam, and in the exam we're supposed to interview a patient. We don't have to figure out what's wrong with them, we just have to make sure that we get all the info about them, their problem, their social background, etc, etc. Weeeeeeeeelll, to help us out with this, they put up some practice cases so that we can get friends/parents etc to role play them, so we can practice for the exam. But, because we all had a much more important exam today, pretty much no-one has done any work for this interview exam tomorrow yet, until tonight. And guess what. THE NIGHT BEFORE THE EXAM, THEY TOOK DOWN THE PRACTICE ROLE PLAYS!@*UO(A*&@*#@(*&!@(_*^!@*&^!@ WHY OH WHY ON EARTH WOULD THAT DO THAT? I can't think of ANY possibly justification for it, other than pure stupidity. VERY ANGRY.

I haven't been on this in a while, Lauren's story almost bowled me over, that is horrendous and horrible and i really hope your family are ok *grugs*
and avra stupid university organisation, i hope u can simulate a practice interview, perhaps with stuffed animals??

my rant is anoying, but there's no one to rant about except perhaps myself or the meance that is chillie
last night i was cooking and i accidently sprayed chillie juice stuf in my eye, so clever me when to rub it out and actually got a little seed thing in it aswell. It went so swollen and red and it burned so much i thought i would go blind. my housemates took me to the student nurse and she cleaned it and everything. now i'm wearing an eye patch like a pirate and feeling like an idiot coz if i had just calmly went to the sink and ran water over it instead of rubbing it nothing serious would have happened.
it's given me a horrible headache but i feel obliged to go to lectures despite getting very little sleep.

How do you tell one of your closest friends that you need space? My friend's been staying in my room on and off for a couple of weeks cause her boyfriend's away on tour and she's sick and can have fits at night and so is scared to sleep in a room by herself. But lately it's like we're joined at the hip from about 5pm til we go to sleep and I can't take it much longer. I really need space. I've got heaps of stress coming from home plus I'm nearing the end of the assignment backlog and about to start stuvac and starting to stress out about that and I really need my "me time" which is usually last thing at night as I get ready for bed and first thing in the morning when I wake up and just potter around my room doing my thing as I get dressed and stuff. But now she's there all the time. I've started saying things like "I need to study" and locking my door even when I'm in there. But because I never usually lock my door she's already (it hasn't even been 12 hours since I started) beginning to pick up on stuff. But I feel really bad cause I've told her it's fine that she stays with me. But with all the stuff going on in my head and around me I feel like she's constantly in my face and I just need some time apart. But I don't know how to say that when she just spent a week at home. There's more too it, but I don't know how to put it. I... mmm... I don't know. How do you tell one of your closest friends to back off when nothings changed in her behaviour, I'm just more aware of parts of it because of how I'm feeling without hurting her feelings?

I was stressing about nothing! Tonight she simply said "what are we doing tonight Freedles?" (that's me) and I said "Nothing. I'm chucking you out. I need space and need to study." And she went "Cool. I was going to try moving out tonight anyway." Talk about worrying over nothing. *sigh* My room seems so big now that I don't have an extra bed cluttering it up. I'm actually getting work done too. (welll,.... til I came here that is)

Currently I hate our neighbours!

My room is at the back of the house and faces the back yard right next to the fence line.

Our neighbours have a pool, and as a consequence have an eeeeevil creepy crawly machine. It starts up its cycle at 3am and runs for 2 hours, it sounds like a motorbike idling outside my window because at that hour the whole neighbourhood is deathly silent. There are no cars or traffic to mask the sound.

It took me ages to figure out that was what the noise was. At first I though it was a generator or a freezer of some sort, but no. Its the damn creepy crawly.

I tried closing my window, you can still hear it. It wakes me most nights and I lie there thinking 'I have to get up in 3 hours.'

So last weekend I finally worked up the courage to knock on the door of said neighbours and asked them to change the time that the machine runs. I was very polite and explained that I didn't mind if they ran it at 10.00pm at night because that would still let me get some sleep.

The man was very rude and said that it didn't bother them so why should it bother me? He also said that it was timed so that the chemicals had time to work. I have never had a pool so I don't know if this is true or not.

So I hate them! In fact I hate them more. These are the same neighbours that didn't call the police when my dad was assaulted - even though they were standing there watching!!

I want to burn down the pools shed and make that damn creepy crawly pay for all the times it has woken me up at the ungodly hour if 3am!

I just don't know what to do.

Well that is horrible! I would still advise against neighbour wars though.
Your poor dad, they must be a bit sick watching something like that and not helping.
I hope you can figure something out to help you get your sleep back.

don't your local council have some noise abatement laws? You could get them to investigate
