A note about SPAMMING

Hey misfits,

Hope you're all enjoying the new message boards system.
I need to write up a note about the amounts of spam that some users are posting however to up their misfit rating.
The rating system was created to be a bit of fun and an achievement for members to earn over a long period of time, not to be a race to see who can post the most nonsense (one-word posts).
If this behaviour continues, apart from Javo readying his wooden spoon, we'll need to raise the amount of posts to gain new ranking (some of you as a result may loose a rank or two).
Go ahead and have fun messaging each other and posting about whatever you want here - just cut back on the silly, nonsensical posts.

There's nothing wrong with chatting on the boards like this. The problem was all the multiple posts by the same person one minute after the other containing very few words, when you could have said it all in the same message...? Yah?

I dont have anything against wanting to get your post count up (other than that I reckon it's more fun to just see what you get when, otherwise you'll soon run out of things to be and its no fun anymore), just dont do it by posting lots of one-word, etc. mesasges. It's really not in the spirit of things, and it's an abuse of the boards.

oh, there there dani, i'm sure most of your posts haven't been a complete waste to society and besides frenzy posting is one of the best things about this site, all the wacky, goofy, pointless, witty, annoying yet fun posts are what drew me to this site in the first place.

And those type of posts to get to the actual messages is a real pain, and yep some people definately are trying to rev up there rating hey!

I find it interesting that people keep spamming this message.

Says a lot about Obernet, and why I love it, I think.

However, things have been getting worse lately. It's cool in the dining hall, but try and keep it to a minimum on the other boards. You don't have to reply to every thread. I have a rule that if I don't immediately think of a reply I'd like to make, I don't reply to a thread at all. Or I save up things I want to say, until I have a few for that thread, and then I say them all at once.

Just a friendly suggestion. You don't have to reply to everyone, all the time. But don't stop posting randomness altogether, of course, or I shall be very sad.

I think what they mean is just posting for the sake of posting!
