Hey all.
I'm just posting here because I'm at Uni. I have an exam in 22 minutes, so I'm kinda trying to find something other than panic to do!
The weather be terrible!!! It's 1:38 and it looks and feels like 8:30 in the morning. It's foggy and everything. Yuk! I love this town, but the weather is the only thing I really can't stand!!!
Kayt's alter ego: She's right. It's cold. Hey hey, gang! I just thought I'd stop in and see how you all are today. Miska said she liked me, so a special hello to her! Hey babe! Who am I, you ask? Why, I'm Kayt alter ego! I'm a character from her novel, who she would be like if she was more cheerful and more, you know, male and stuff. Brydie might even recognise me, on account of having read it! Hey Brydie, babe! How you doing, sister?
*Kayt leaps up and stuffs the silly man back into her head*
I'm sorry. They kinda leap out like that sometimes! I can't really stop them. Sometimes characters just get so vivid, they can't be kept down. At least you haven't encountered the chick from my OTHER story. She used to appear in emails to my friend all the time. Apparently I said weird stuff as her that I didn't remember saying!!!
Kayt's alter ego: Face it, babe! You're always saying weird stuff!
Back in the brain with you! Don't make me get the stick!!!
And ruin my gorgeous face? You don't have the GUTS!!!
He's right, I don't have the guts. I could do a lot of things to him, but not ruin the face! Oh the joys of having a majorly hot story character who doubles as your alter ego, occaisonally popping out of your mind to say stuff you think but never say!
I tell it like it is, babe!
*Kayt thumps her troublesome but beautiful hot alter ego on the head, and forces him back into her imagination*
If he shows up during my exam, I am SO punishing him. I'll write him into some sort of terrible plot development. Give him a hideous disease or similar!
Don't you other writers just love it when a character becomes so strong in your mind that you just KNOW what he or she would say. Like with this guy, and a couple of my others. I've been writing them so long, and I just know them so well, that they can almost think totally independently.
I dream up all my plot ideas. And I remember I was trying to decided how my epic novel should finally end. The very end of Book 3 was stumping me. But I dreamt it up, and I swear it wasn't me that wrote that ending. I was dreaming, but I wasn't coming up with these ideas! I kid you not! They were all kind of milling around, and it wasn't going anywhere, and then suddenly a character shouts
"Taqan! Throw me my sword!"
And Taqan gave the answer I would have given, which was...
"But you can't lift it..."
But he shouted for his sword again, and then the ending just poured out. I swear, this character knew instinctively how it had to go. He knew who had to die, and he knew what plot threads needed to be died up, and who had to live and everything. It was amazing!!!
Am I the only one who experiences this weird sense of characters being so strong that they can have a life of their own...
Gee, I hope not!
Well, better go. That exam is MIGHTY close. Wish me luck!!! I should be okay:
Julius Caesar died in 44BCE
Augustus ruled from 27BCE till 14CE
The Roman Republic collapsed for many reasons, including gang warfare, poverty, bueracracy, military restructuring and the violence inherent in the Roman Culture.
See: Who da man? I have it all figured out. I should be okay!
I hope!
I REALLY hope!
Eeep! I'm nervous. I don't think I've studied enough!!!
