Hey everyone. I need a bit of appraisal on some of my artwork. I want to be able to improve, but I can't until I get some opinions. Could some of you please take a look at my work and tell me how I could improve? Thanks phoenix910.deviantart.com

Ok, um, well I really like what you do, but I'm not sure if I can actually give you any feedback that's useful to you. The only thing I will say, as one of those people who like getting stuff like your work as a wallpaper, is that SUm.05 doesn't really work all that well as a wallpaper, due to the text down the left hand side. In general, it's a little too light, and a little too busy to work well as a desktop, although it is a very cool piece of work in itself. Maybe, sometimes some of your work looks a little bit too... flat? I don't know... Presbyopia - definately very cool. But maybe it's a little too perfect? All the curves are very parallel, and maybe that was the idea, but maybe if it wasn't all so perfect and symmetrical, it might look a little more... real/interesting/eye-catching? Similar in differenc.E - all the cork screws are almost exactly the same. And in regards to SUm.05, similarly, I don't know how you actually did it, but it looks like you've just used the twirl (or whatever they are, cant remember the name exactly) filter, and that's it... so the curves are too perfect, and things just aren't really like that........? Minds Eye is definately my favourite, though Ok, so that was probably very unhelpful. But hey, I tried! Keep up the good work tho!

The reason why I haven't posted any feedback is because I've spent my afternoon going "ooh look at the pretty pictures. Stephen is such a clever chooky" Not exactly growth-inducing stuff

I always thought something was missing, and I reckon you might have stumbled upon it. I'll try and do something a little less 'perfect'. If you want to have a look at some of my other older stuff (illustrations, photographs) just go phoenix910.deviantart.com/galleryThe other page is just my recent stuff.

That spider-eating-a-wasp shot is just so creepy. I can't stop looking at it but I desperately want to look away. If I wanted to take a shot like that, I'd need a really loooooooong zoom lens.

Yeah, I'm lucky with that shot. I got a nikon which does close-ups really well. Glad you liked it (if you didn't get creeped out too much by it;) ) I really liked them too. Loved the names too Where'd you get them from? All names I thought of myself. It just takes a bit of a thinking mind and maybe a bit of insanity. Glad you like ;D Squarmi Excellent work! It'd be nice if some of the art students at the college i work for produced work this good! Minds Eye is definitely my favourite Thanks for the comment ;D. I reckon that would have to be my favourite peace too. And it all started from a pic of my eye
