Quiet Frankie you!
No just kidding... the reason for my unexpected presence online is that one of my brothers is away at the moment and I've hijacked his computer for a bit. Hopefully by the time he returns I'll have a nice shiny power supply for Spudicus (aka Mr Potatohead) Apparently my sexy new monitor (with purple speed stripes yeah!) and dvd burner was too much of a strain on the old one.
**disappears in a fashionable cloud of piratey stench**
Much Love, Clare

Clare's piratey disappearing stench smells a lot like my missing tim tams with the fudge centres. * suspects* * brews some vanilla tea for no reason* Here's to the speedy return of your computer!

Just one tip for all of you that have bought new computers recently.
Most computer manufacturers put in a low wattage power supply (say about 250-300watts), as its cheaper. Its worth buying a newer power supply of about 400-450watts as most new computers draw lots of power.

heh... it's definitely something worth looking into because it's a right pain when your computer carks it. I have a nice shiny new 400 watt one now.
The dead power supply didn't come with the new computer at least... basically I just bought a new motherboard, some RAM, new monitor and a few other parts then used all the spare parts we have lying about from all our old computer. which just happened to include the dodgy power supply.

Tis unfortunate! My PC died a while ago cos of the power supply. However, when it went it killed the motherboard/processor/memory, both hard disks and my DVD-ROM. I wasn't happy!
I suppose it couldn't stand up to 8 hours of continuous LAN gaming!
Have built a new one now and i'm just waiting for my wireless netwrok stuff to arrive before i go on at home. I'm currenlty using my works pc to go online during the day ;D

Huzzah for Clare! Let's hope your computer behaves itself, and it should, too, with such a lovely new power supply. * grugs*
