Josh and I sort of celebrate Valentines day, but we dont really fuss much about it. We spend the evenign together adn we share chocolate. But we alwasy share chocolate (note - share mostly means he has a piece, adn I get the rest). We give each other something little. Often chocolate

Our school supported the giving of Valentines Day by giving student the chance to buy one of three things; Just a card, Card and Darrel Lea Chocolate Heart and a Card and a Rose. I partsipated in this and gave my angle a rose (she gave me the chocolate) ;D

I have to say its the most useless holiday out and guys are not big fans at all(all I know anyway) its just something else we have to fork out for besides, anniversary's, b'day, xmas, easter and spontaneous gifts when we've stuffed up.
And naturally roses seem to jump like 250% in price, plus tea, plus chocolates and stuffed animals.
Sorry in bad, bad, bad mood just had my evaluation at work, and said some things that have me come across as very money hungry!

yeah there are some ppl like that not me. I would like to make it that I could always remember the 'special' events but my brain storage has a hole in it. I also am prigliged that my girl has stayed with me and that she chooses to spend her time hanging out. I just love listening to her and holding her hand more than anything... the presents and money involed is a perk because I get to see her smile more for it.
Valentine's day was in rememberence of a martya St.Valentine who had left a note for a girl that he liked on the night he was killed

i think valentine's day is for couples that want to date but havent quite got it together yet, or those who have just started. I hate the way u can't go anywhere without there being bombarded with stupid pink hearts. It's pants, the very long legged sort! I saw a shop advertising that alien vs preditor was out now and the "out now" part was done of a ginat pnik heart. does any chick wanna see that film?

I'm in a steady relationship and I still hate V day, Volcom.
Paul and I didn't do anything for it - why do we need some stupid day created only to boost the florist and chocolate companies income, to tell each other that we love each other? We tell each other that every day anyway.

Yeah I have lots of diffenrt opinions on Valentines day. For me our other celbrations like anniversary's and birthdays are much more significant. But Its a good excuse to shower your loved one with even more love than usual. But I also agree with Min saying that you don't need an excuse because you should and do show each other that you love each other all the time anyway. By the way I take it that you didn't go surfing for Valentines Min? Raineth

LOL Raineth Actually the only things we did were set up appointments on our phones to beep away at us with a message, mine was just this goofy "I LIKE YOU!" message. It was really good in the end because we'd both done the exact same thing - covertly stolen each other's phone when the other was out of the room, set up the appointment, and both gotten them at different times on Vday, and neither of us had known the other did it...if that makes sense.

You've gotta take this type of thing how its meant and not how its percieved.

Min I did say AMOST everyone who is single. I was just making an observation. V Day is a day of love so why should we have to give roses and cards to each other to prove the point? So tell me why do you give each other presents on Christmas day when its about Christ and family? You do not need to prove you care for each other with a gift? BUT we do! I have to say its kinda fun and it shouldn't be a day of hate and you do not have to purchase roses and cards. Why don’t we make a special day for us ober.netters?? It can be for any reason and we can celebrate it any way we like? Since alot of people hate/dislike V Day why don’t we make a day that we love and it can be our special day (it does sound a little corny ;D ) What do you think?

Well...there's always the moonfair! We celebrate that every September/October, in duel celebration of the site's anniversary (this year will be our 6th year!!).
And I hate the whole Christmas gimmick too Volcom. I wouldn't buy pressies if I wasn't obligated to do so. I prefer to spend time with the people I care about, not embarrass each other about how much money we've spent on each other. Every year we're expected to get better and more thoughtful presents and I just don't have the energy - actually around Christmas time last year I decided I'm not doing it this year. I'm going to get a default present for everyone but it's not going to be the main focus.

I don't think people expect thoughtful presents off me! he he he. What is going to be your main focus Min? Our main focus is the kids, our kids that is. By the way Min there is a good chance we'll be going to Brisbane for a week around the 18th of december, we could try to meet!

The moonfair usually spans over the end of September and the start of October, so a month to six weeks in total - usually!!

I don't mind V'day, it just another chance to have fun at showing Toria a part of me (plus this was my first V'day with someone like her. Last year it didn't mean much) And for Christmas I gave her a box of Celabration (750g for $1 what a bargin) and a card. For easter I gave her a white Lindt bunny (and will do again). Days like that are fun I like them not just to us the day to show I care just for a little more put in to show it.
