lol, i read this somewhere... "... perhaps the most disturbing thing of all about valentines day is the fact that cupid is, in essence, a baby flying around with an object invented to cause injury. Is there nobody else that feels a little uneasy at the thought of that? If a baby pointed a crossbow at me, I'm positive a four letter word would come out of my mouth, i'm just not so sure it would be 'love'." a tribute to all the anti-valentines day crusaders out there

I'd be wondering which weapons vendor had been negligent in its licensing.

Hehe, at school on Friday there was an announcement saying school wouldn't accept any delivieries of flowers for students and we should see our boyfriends over the weekend and tell them to send us flowers to home if we're going to be sent flowers.
It was absolutely hilarious.

I think once you're in a realtionship it becomes a bit third rate. You see Trisfit and I celebrate our wedding anniversary, our "begiining of our relationship" anniversary plus each others birthdays. We don't bother too much about St Valentine's Day with all of that going on.

argh. my school must be obsessed then. our school is ALL for valentines day for about a week before the official day of 'love', random seniors set up a stall and take orders for real roses. then on the big day, a truck or something anyhoo comes and delivers all the muchly overpriced roses. umm... my school is obsessed

my high school was a bit like that, though they just had a ton of roses on the day, and they got delivered in class, as well as all the secret admirer messages

Valentines Day wasn't too bad when i had a boyfriend... Can't remember what I got him or what he got me, but it was ok...
My parents don't celebrate it because the week after is their anniversary. The got married on the 21st of Feb so they never celebrate Valentines Day.

I find Valentine's day rather pointless. As far as I can see, the only people who really benefit are the ones who sell the cards, flowers and chocolate. I'd rather spend the whole year letting my Timothy know how I feel about him than ignoring him for 364 days and trying to make up for it with a shoddy gift of chocolates on the other day.

Yes, but it's CHOCOLATE! You just can't give up on chockie. I mean, it's hopeless and all that stuff, but some of the toys are cute and there's CHOCKIE!

A lot of single people hate Valentines Day, but I'm cool with it. If people want to celebrate it, that's fine with me.
But I don't get those people who get like obsessed with it. And who get really upset when they don't get anything and stuff. Especially single people, who are like expecting something.
If I got something for Valentines Day, I would probably faint and go purple! I'm single, why would I expect something?
It seems weird to me.

wow some of your schools get really into it!!!
We dont do any of that selling roses at stalls and crap.
Its just a normalish day, but all the couples are running around in love, while the rest of us just kinda sit there like 'hmm yeah'

The girls' school I went to went a bit crazy too. But it was fun. Trisfit doesn't like Valentines day for the same reason as Buneater. He feels like other people see it as though they can be wretched all year as long as they go all out on StValentines day. With the amount Trisfit is away we've actually only been together for one StValentine's day out of 5 years and this year will be no different unfortunately.

I think that valentines day is a totally commercialized day designed to sucker people who have self esteem and need issues, conning them to think that just because TV says so it is the most romantic day of the year, and putting girls hopes up that this maybe the year that they are special enough to get a rose.... and it works! i really wouldnt mind at all if I got a valentines rose. $2 each at school. Of course single me has no reason to expect one. and while it would be nice, I still dont get those desperate premaddona's who spend days waiting and hoping only to be crushed... then begin preerations for next year
