Hi guys. I've had an idea and just want to find out what you think...
Ages ago I found a website called "A Tolkien Virgin" where a guy who'd never read The Lord of The Rings decided to finally read it and post a few paragraphs at the end of each chapter, detailing how he felt, what he thought was likely to happen next etc.
It was fantastic because reading his thoughts was like re-living that experience of reading the book for the first time.
People also had a chance to add their comments at the bottom of each post.
Now I've never read Darkfall or Darksong but I know most of you have (and many like it even more than the OC, which I find hard to believe!).
Would you like me to do a similiar thing and write a couple of paragraphs at the end of each chapter as I read it? I'd need a web tekkie to help set it up... I'd probably email my thoughts to them.
I won't start for a couple of weeks.
So what do you think?
Or will it clash with the moonfair? Should wait till later in the year?
Cheers, Roz.

That's a wonderful idea, Roz.
I'd be really interested in seeing someone's thoughts that way.
I wish there was something I hadn't read so I could try it myself!!!
I fully support this plan!

Ooh! It's a wonderful idea! And you could probably do it through something like LiveJournal, where you don't have to know anything at all about making websites. I don't think it would clash with the Moonfair at all. In fact, you could probably launch it during the Moonfair and make it part of the whole thing, if you felt like it. Let us know what you decide to do, so we can flock to your side as you read Darkfall and Darksong for the first time!

Livejournal should pay you advertising fees, Katie! But it's a brilliant idea. **signs up as a reader**

Livejournal should pay you advertising fees, Katie! * looks embarrassed* I know! But it just seemed to be the answer to everything. I should really get onto them about that, though. I've been acting as an unofficial ambassador for too long. It's time they gave me a complimentary paid account!

I just want to again express my supprt for this project
I just spent a couple hours reading "The Tolkien Virgin" (You piqued my interest Roz!) It's a fascinating account by an intelligent, thoughtful and perceptive reader and I found it really interesting!!
Therefore, Roz! I would love to see you do the same for Legendsong!

unfortunatly my love of The Ledgend song DOES infact seem deeper then OC and I would love to see if you feel the same way... I think you should put up an account at each Segue because it's more indepth then every chapter... I would definatly be one of the people that would read what you had to say with much anticipation...

Wow. I didn't anticipate so much support for the plan.
Okay, I'll try to get onto to doing this soon. The one thing is that I don't actually have copies of the books, so I'll get them and then read them. It could take a week or so. I'll let you know when I start.
Thanks for the suggestions.
And Kayt, I'm glad you checked out "A Tolkien Virgin" - spent a couple of hours doing so!
Cool....

sounds like a great idea...really excited you should put the segues as well as the chapters, cause they're different and maybe a summary after each sister...would be really cool

Awesome idea. Definately write something after the segues. You could write something after your few chapters with each sister (before the segue) and then one again after the segue, if you didn't want to do each chapter.
