My computer is stupid and keeps logging me out for no reason at all similar to it's stupidity for allopwing me only 2 minute windows of webpage access before it cuts out and only lets me use msn. cruel world. i am going to be living in the people's republic of woodford between the 27th of December and the 1st of January, if you're going to be there then maybe we can work out a meeting. if you're not going to be there then YOU SHOULD BE THERE! artists include: cat empire, resin dogs, butterfingers, xavier rudd, the waifs and the beautiful girls. there's blues and jazz and country and poetry and workshops and dance and comedians and street performers and 'urban Greek blues'(whatever that is). BIG! www.woodfordfolkfestival.com/main/index.htmlyou know you love it.

Ok Duria, if you read this before you go give me a call sometime at Woodford on 0400917751. I just bought a brand new spanking telstra sim card, as I heard only telstra gets reception. I'm just hoping it all works.
Have a fantastic time - I know I will.

Yup. I didn't meet up with Duria... *sob*
It was big and huge and scary and wonderful. I didn't see half the acts I wanted to, but had a fantastic time. I'd expected it to be hot, but I didn't realise just how exhausted you get under those conditions. I'm used to the National Folk festival, which is Canberra in Autumn and generally quite cold. Veeeeeeery different. I enjoyed Woodford, but I think it is the kind of festival that would get better each time you go, as you become more at home. I mean to go again, though I don't know when I'll manage it. Possibly by volunteering.
Duria, did you have fun?

I'm afraid I didn't see many of the big names, which is something I'm a bit p!ssed off about. I went to a Waifs concert which was fantastic, as I'm a big fan of theirs. I stood up the front with the crowd and danced. It was the best place to be, but really exhausting. I was very tired and a bit sick during the first few days, and not up to the walk to the ampitheatre, which as the biggest venue, was where Cat Empire, Missy Higgins and a lot of the other popular bands were playing.
Apart from the Waifs concert, I really enjoyed Cloudstreet (made it to almost all of their sets), Penelope Swales (one of my alltime favourites), Fourplay, Kris Demeanour (who btw is playing in Tempe this weekend), Martin Pearson (hilarious musician and comedian) and the Spooky Men.
You should try and make it there some time. Really worth the money and the travel.
