GREETINGS!
This idea's got disturbingly little response so far (granted, the two people who responded were positive - but still...) so any response of any sort would be nunky fine at this point... READ! REPLY! NOW!!!!
Some of you may have seen my post on the Ashlings board about having a bunch of Guild Challenges – if you haven’t, don’t worry, you’re not missing much, coz here’s the revised version. Thinking hypothetically:
That’s about it – let me know what you all think – most of you ought to know that I fairly well live for feedback, so the more the merrier - I reckon it’ll work well, but there might be a concept that I’ve completely overlooked – if so, I challenge you to tell me asap
Cheerio,
Lauren

Some of you may have seen my post on the Ashlings board about having a bunch of Guild Challenges – if you haven’t, don’t worry, you’re not missing much, coz here’s the revised version. Thinking hypothetically:
- Every guild forms a Challenge whenever they feel the need for some guild spirit.
- The challenge itself is pretty free-range, BUT it must remain within the boundaries of what already exists on the Obernewtyn.net Tally Board.
- An example: The Ashlings get on the Member’s Main board and say, “MYSTICS, WE CHALLENGE YOU TO HAVE FIVE DIFFERENT MEMBERS ENTER THE CURRENT WRITING COMPETITION!”
- The Mystics can either reply, “YOU’RE ON!” or “SORRY, WE DECLINE BECAUSE WE DON’T HAVE THAT MANY ACTIVE MEMBERS!” or something similar.
- If the Mystics accept, BOTH the Ashlings AND Mystics guilds must have 5 people enter the writing competition. This should stop any guild creating unrealistic challenges.
I’m not sure how the pointage will work, but I’m thinking that as long as each guild makes an effort to at least TRY to rise to the Challenge, they won’t be penalised. However, if the Mystics accept, then don’t do anything about it, they’ll lose, like, 5 points. Same with the Ashlings – if they make the Challenge, then don’t do anything just because they want to see the Mystics suffer, they lose 5 points. I greatly doubt this will happen, though.
- If the Mystics decline, the Ashlings can modify the Challenge, or challenge a different guild, or forget it altogether. - A guild can only accept one Challenge at a time. So if Ashlings are already participating in a Challenge with Mystics, they’re not allowed to take on a Challenge from Dreamweavers. However, Dreamweavers can pose the Challenge, and if they’re willing to wait the Ashlings can put them on standby and accept the Challenge with Dreamweavers as soon as their Challenge with the Mystics is resolved (otherwise the Dreamweavers can go to the Wanderers, if they’re desperate).
- Other possibilities include: "MYSTICS, WE CHALLENGE YOU TO:
- Create three multimedia pieces entitled, “The Road to Sutrium.”
- Have three people enter the current debate and quote Lemony Snicket as a reference FOR the argument.
- Have three people visit our guild message board at least once a week for the next month and make them more active (this will definitely help on the Ashlings board...)
- A round of the Herder-Misfit Game.
- A round of Craker’d!
- Earn the Moonfair Cup twice in a row! (That would be a great challenge for Mystics!!!)
- Create three quizzes to measure...(I’m not sure wot...this is where my imagination ends...) - You’ll notice I’ve used the number “three” a lot in the examples (and if you didn’t notice, you’ll notice this notice is not worth noticing...or something...). That’s basically to encourage more guild interaction, rather than just leaving it to one person entering all the time. And if only one person does end up rising to the Challenge, there’ll be no penalty anyway, because the guild has obviously made SOME effort to rise to the Challenge, and it’ll just mean that the guild doesn’t get full Challenge pointage.
- The main point to make is that this will be different to the Moonfair events because the Challenges must already have been created by ober.net. That is, no-one’s allowed to create a new game or puzzle or anything specifically for the Challenge. That way no extra work is needed, really, except to contact guild members and get them as involved in the ober.net events as possible.
That’s about it – let me know what you all think – most of you ought to know that I fairly well live for feedback, so the more the merrier - I reckon it’ll work well, but there might be a concept that I’ve completely overlooked – if so, I challenge you to tell me asap
