We at the Ashlings have been discussing all things guildy of late and one of our ideas was to have password protected guild boards at the ProBoards site here, in the hopes that it might inspire an up-turn in guild involvement. Well, I don't want to do anything without asking you all first, so please vote in the poll. I'll give you a chocolate antelope if you do!* Would you like to have your guild messageboard here, where it's easy to access? Each guild board would have a separate password, distributed to members by the Guild Leaders, Guildens and Wards - so you could get up to all manner of secret guild business without the other guilds knowing! What say you all? * offer not valid on the planet earth.

unless you can higure out a way to get the awesome smilies from the wanderers' board working on the proboards, i am totally and utterly against the idea. i think all we need is something to get people going to the guild boards as well, not just here. that may be reminders to visit them, or games held only on the boards or...oh, I DON'T KNOW, just anything to keep my beloved smilies!!

Am totally hoping that the Mystics like this idea, since our Members only board has been DELETED BY SOMEONE?!

that could be a problem!!
anyway, i am willing to compromise (sp?) on getting new boards, but i think i should tell everyone know, its a good time - something i've kept a secret a long time. THE TRUTH COMES OUT: i live on the wandies board. they are my home. so NO ONE is getting me to move out of there!!

Thanks for your feedback so far, you wonderful people. I certainly don't want to force people to move here - if only two guilds want to do it, then only two guilds will. It's not an "all or nothing" thing, so don't worry if you really don't like the idea. Miska> it's definitely possible to link both ways - from guild sites to the boards and back again. I don't want to draw people away from their guild websites at all - what I'm really hoping is that this will increase guild activity. I hope I've made you happy with that answer. Brydie> I shall have to visit the Wanderers' messageboard and check out these fantastic smileys. ;D

What I'll probably do with the link miska is in the members only area, the message board link will go straight to the members message board - ppl will still need to enter their password and such

Hey! I like the idea of having a board on here for each guild (especially if we start doing activities like the one Lauren suggested on the Ashlings board), but i don't think it should completely replace our individual boards. Not only do alot of members like to visit other guilds boards and participate in stuff there, but we at the dreamweavers have all different things going on at our boards that i'm sure alot of our members won't want to give up... So in conclusion I like the idea of a board here for each guild, but for us it won't be a replacement for our already existing boards! Cheers Em

That could definitely work, Emerald. But you don't have to have a board here if you think it will distract from the activity at your main guild board. Nothing is compulsory at all. So far, I've been really fascinated by the comments people have made - it's very enlightening.

LOL @ Brydie and miska...I got sooooo confused, coz I didn't realise you'd changed aliases!! Evil, evil people!! My poor leedle seagull brain can only handle one thing at a time. Anyway, I voted 'yes' meaning 'I reckon a password-one around here would be good for Ashlings, if no-one else' Cheerio Lauren P.S. No grudge against the alias, thing, mateys...

*Waves at Duck* Ello! Its nice to see you on the proboards!
Anywho, as to the issue of the guild boards - I voted yes, but I have since had a few interesting thoughts.
Ok, after reading through the posts on this thread, I've come to the conclusion that lots of peoples (The Dreamweavers and Brydie mainly) Like their old boards. I do too. I love the look of the Ashlings board, and really don't want to leave it. So, here is what I propose we do. -
We set up general boards on proboards that anyone can access, but can still be used for guild stuff. Just more of the general guild stuff than anything else. What we could then do is (and I'm assuming that is can be done) put a lock on our old boards, and have them as the members only boards. I dunno have this would work for the Dreamweavers. maybe they could just leave their board as is, since they already have a members area? Anyway, on the proboard guilds, we can put links to the members boards, as well as our guild sites. That way, we can still have guild talk on proboards, as well as keep all of our old boards, plus it would also help boost guild partisipation if people had an easy link to the guild sites.
Anyway, that be my input for the time being.

im all for it, i think having the message boards here would be a great idea, it makes things a bit more centralised and i dont have to remember as many passwords/usernames etc

I'll give it a shot, good Min. It might not be right away, though. I'll have a look at the whole business on the weekend, if I have a chance. * burrows back into book*
