I just went and had a look at the Ober.net website and read the news about the Obernewtyn play. Is there anyone here from Darwin who'll be going to see the play? And does anyone know if the play will be touring? I think it would be interesting to see it. I wonder how they'll deal with the concept of Elspeth's powers. How can you convey the sense of telepathy and coercion on a stage? It would be fascinating to see.  |

thats the play that Wanderer be involved in. it was he who told us about it in the first place. but i'm not jealous of darwin people at all...they must be melting!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW HOT IT IS!!!!

Well I used to live in Darwin and believe me it get HOT!!!
But then again you can always run into the streets wen it rains in togs and get saturate....its heeps fun!!!!
I really hope that the play tours!!! Brydie : U and I will have to line outside the ticket box for a week before hand to get the best seats in the house!!!LOL

i think Wanderer said that for the play to tour, they would have to give the rights to it to another production company, and that in turn means more money has to be given to IC, which is not something a small production company can do  |

Buneater, from my own theatrical exprierences I would say that lighting and sound would be primarilly used to convey elspeth's powers.
Gods, I wish it were going to be in sydney when I was going to be in sydney.... I wonder if I could convince the uni theatre company next year to buy the rights.... *begins to plot evilly*
I wonder if the stage play is allowed to be filmed. (highly unlikely, but hey I can live in hope!)
A dawin person should go see it and then write a review for us all. I would dearly love to read a critique of such a show.

somewhere on the theories page is a thread on this, that explains all of this and stuff, but yeah im insanely jealous too, im pretty sure its a wanderer who wrote it as well from memory. i guess thats another one we can add to the list, "come to the wanderers, we have timtams, and people involved with the obernewtyn play"  |

One of the actors has the username Wanderer.
But it was written by Caroline Heske, who is a Wanderer, but we haven't seen her in some time.
