I think the launch is going to be in Melbourne... is there a reason for that or am i just hoping?? It would make sense to have the launch in Melbourne. According to my map stats, most of the members of Ober.net are from Melbourne or Victoria. Besides, I know heaps of people in NSW and QLD are saving and planning a big trip down to Melbourne for the launch. It would be a shame to take that experience away from them, wouldn't it?

Hi Sentinel!
Pretty close I should think. Most of our members are between 13 and 23, with a few either side. All up, the ages of members I know are 11-25.
It's nice to have a newbie though, and I'm glad to see Obernewtyn appears to those of all ages!
You should check out the Introduce Yourself Here thread up the top. I'm keen to hear more about you. I understand from the Dreambook that you be pregnant?
Hope to see more of you,
KSL

Am I the oldest ober.netter here? Nope. Sounds like you and I are of a similar age. And it also sounds like you started reading the series around the same time I did. Finally - someone who understands my pain!! And welcome to the, er, what shall I call it? Mad house?

* falls about laughing* At least we don't have to pay for our entertainment when Kayt's around. Huzzah for Kayt! Will I be seeing you on Election Day? I wonder if I draw a box on the ballot and put your name under it, would they still accept my vote?

Would you believe they would only let me run in one electorate?
I wasn't allowed to be put on the ballot paper as "Kayt: Prime Minister of the World"
So I didn't run at all. Maybe next time!

Yes, definitely me. No Illuminati whatsover. I don't know what gave you that idea.
*hastily shoves Illuminati into a cereal box*
You weren't doing much wrong - you had square brackets around the address for the image, that's all. It should go:

I'm another oldie... sort of. I'm 23. I started reading the books when I was in year 7 at high school - that was in 1993.
I think quite a few of us started reading them around that time.
Someone asked if IC herself has said anything about The Sending. Yes, she sent me a letter a few months ago saying that The Sending would be her next project. She said she had heaps of notes but this time she'd actually sit down and put it all together, making it her primary project.
So if it takes a year to write then another six months to edit, that would be the end of NEXT year.
Maybe the publishers are just giving a vague estimate, but my guess is very late 2005 or early 2006.
