oooo i hate marmite! and promite! whenever we'd go to my nan and pops, they'd have a special jar of vegemite just for us. pop was a brit, so he loved his fakeymite spreads...(sorry british ppl's, but vegemite wins hands down) by the way - whcih one is British - promite or marmite? Marmite is the British one. I've never heard of Promite. I guess its all down to individual taste. I like Marmite, but i'm not as keen on Vegimite

i think we're both in the majority of thinking that mixing is wrong. I guess we'll probably have to wait and see what the others say though

They used to sell cheese mixed with vegemite here... and that was a bit of a yick pairing, i love my vegemite and cheese, but seperately. Some reason when they sold the vegemite cheese slices it wasn't quite right.
Marmite is just... wrong. Just plain wrong. And i think it purely comes down to vegemite being fantastic with butter. *hugs her vegemite*
and it's a good thing it was a hyped up response. I don't think i could handle travelling around America without my vegemite.... okay, taking it a bit too far, but i know i would be missing it sorely.
Anyway, I love Pratchett's explanation of vegemite. It's just so revolting that you keep going back to make sure it really does taste like that

Yeah, gotta love any Pratchett quotes. But vegemite with butter??? Ick. It's fine on its own. In large amounts.

I eat my Vegemite with butter on toast but if it's on a sandwich (is that spelt right? It looks all wrong!) then I have it on its own. I thought nearly everyone ate butter with Vegemite? Even the thought of Marmite or Promite makes me feel ill.

I have tried vegemite and my taste buds rejected it, sorry to say, but I know the vegemite song very well! ^_^
I like peanut butter and nutella. Why is it called peanut BUTTER? Do they have actual butter mixed in with the peanuts?
I like my bread (single slice) with butter/margerine on first and peanut butter on top.
Peanut butter and celery - eck - not cool for me. It's like two extreme tastes!
But yes, ridiculous ban!
Lots of countries have ridiculous bans (and fines that come with it)

Lucy, do you remember ready mixed peanut butter and chocolate spread? It had a yellow lid and a yellow and brown striped label. It was made by the same people that made all the other Sun Pat peanut butter brands.
I can't stand having butter with my peanut butter!
