U2 owns.. just plain OWNS!!! Well said Grunty... The creme de la creme of music. Defying genre, class, race, age.... The best bands are the ones who you can listen to over and over, they have a distinct sound without sounding monotonous, they defy genre, the members of the band are personable and friendly, and They stikc around for generations ;D

I kinda get concert depression at this time of year (winter) as I really prefer to go to festivals: pay less, get more. I can't really justify paying a lot to go see one group, I mean tickets are expensive to begin with, then add travel and accommodation and it gets ridiculous! With festivals the tickets are often less than half the price of an arena/theatre tour and you usually camp out, or go in huge groups so split acc costs. Of course, my views would probably change if I won the lottery, but until then all I can say is roll on summer! ;D

i used to go to concerts obsessively (when i lived in London) i have musician friends and i used to flyer for music venues (like the mean fiddler) which was a terrible job except that it leaves you to establish friendships with the ticket office ppl, bouncers (though they r often too grumby) and the guys who sell cheap tickets. Therefore i have seen many a big name band for free (the prodigy, the killers, kings of leon, razorlight, rufus wainwright, athlete, yeah yeah yeahs etc.) however now cardiff is the nearest place to go the only thing i have to look forward to is a random band called the Test Icicles .... *waits for this info to be absorbed* yes. neway this was not of my choosing- but i'm going on the 26th of jan *very unenthusiastic woot*
