It's so cool and so accurate. Same time as my T.V and my computer!

I'd assume that, too, but it's perfectly in sync with my computer clock, which makes me suspect that it takes the times from that, instead.
Or am I being dumb...

most servers in companies (and most home PC clocks, if its setup right) will get their time from an internet time server

I did a quick test - if I manually change the time on my PC, the time on the board changes too. And I get an error when I try to synchronise with a time server, although that might be something to do with my work network.

It takes it from your computer clock. This line in the code suggests that:
var dt = new Date() ; // [GMT] time according to machine clock

Thanks for clearing that up min!
Just as well that our server gets its time from an internet time server then

Hey Min, thought I should probably inform you (not sure if you know or not? ) that teh time for NSW is out by about 2 hours- its currently 5:14 and it says 3:14- I cant remember if it used to be outta wack prioir to daylight saving time or not, but now it is daylight saving time and so we had to put our clocks forward an hour. Just thought Id let you know...
