My baby, my VL commodore that my brother's been paying off from me for about a year now has been stolen. It was stolen last night, from Cairns, from my brother's driveway. It had about $2 worth of fuel in it, but whoever took it must have refuelled somewhere. Currently my brother and dad are combing cairns for it. The police have been notified. I guess I'm just posting here in case they take it on a wild journey and end up in a major city.

Here's a photo of the VL a couple of years ago:



it's maroon, 5 spd manual, 18" mags, lowered, exhaust, 6 stack CD player, amp, the works. My brother and I have put in excess of $20,000 into it. Honestly, it's our baby. Number plate is 090 EBK.
(Unfortunately, being my brother, he didn't get insurance. It doesn't matter anyway, because a VL commodore would have only gotten about 5 grand max insurance pay out, and those who know me well know about our family history with insurance companies. Yes it's silly, but can't change it now.)

I know our chances are slim, but if you see it anywhere - who knows, maybe they're hauling it to bris - PLEASE contact me immediately.
Sufficed to say, if I get my hands on the prick who stole my baby before the cops do I'm going to kill him.

And so New Years for me may be cancelled. Unless we go in my car. We were going to go in the VL for the Summernationals (car show).

They have already checked all the service stations in a 30km radius, but no one remembers seeing anything. I'm adament that they check the security tapes. If they didn't stop somewhere to get fuel, chances are they dumped it somewhere. Hopefully they didn't wreck it in the process.

Poor Min! My cusin had her car stolen once and it wrecked her life. I really hope that you get your baby back!

Just like to point out that as soon as this page opened i pressed end on the key board and read id die if someone stole my baby! i hope you get him back! It shocked me a bit, then i read the whole thread and was like "Oh, Min didn't give birth" he, he!

Update: my brother has about 300 people scanning Cairns for it. We've printed out posters, we're offering a reward for information leading to the capture of the guy and the return of the car.
4-5 of Mick's mates were out last night scanning cairns last night and they THINK they saw it, debadged, but the guy took off too quickly to know for sure. So word is at the moment that the idiot is still driving around cairns, believing that he won't get caught.

I miss my car, but imagine how my poor brother feels...he's not doing too well at the moment.

Well Hopefully you will find it, sounds like you have a better chance than alot of other people do when their car gets stolen, so that's something. I'm also quite glad to know you didn't give birth to it, that would've been a birth story from hell.

The police just found it.

It was totally burnt out. They took it for a drive, dumped it, and burned it to the ground. All the aluminium pieces on it melted off. They can't salvage a thing from it.

i get the reasoning behind why they burn them out, but its still stupid and immature. borrowing your parents car and going joyriding, while still stupid, is at least better than doing that!

My brother is absolutely distraught. I'm going to head off to Cairns for a few days to see him. Am leaving on Friday night so you might not see me around for a couple of days.

It's just senseless. Mick had had the club lock on it - the club lock was still attached to the steering wheel and the steering wheel was on the floor of the drivers side. They'd removed the steering wheel and driven the car with a shifter. They hadn't stolen anything out of it - not even his CDs - they weren't interested in stealing anything. They'd just wanted a car to burn. This had obviously been planned since they went to all the trouble of removing the steering wheel. So much for clubs deterring theives.

Hopefully while I'm in Cairns I'll be able to track this/these w@nkers down. Revenge Queen is on the lose.
