What's your favourite Harry Potter book? My fav (up to this point) is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and my least favourite is Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. I just think it was a bit boring, and I didn't understand all of it. In some parts I just got so muddled up I had to stop reading for a while. So what's your fav/least fav and why?

My favourite is Prisoner of Azkaban. Not sure why. I just think it was the best written. She'd kind of gotten into her stride, improved her writing skills, and it wasn't too long like Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.

I didn't think TGOF and TOOTP were long. Though I agree taht TPOA was good. It was cool with all the time - turner stuff and the introduction of Sirius.

I'm definitely a Prisoner of Azkaban fan, though Chamber of Secrets comes in close second. I was so in love with that book the first time I read it. But since then Prisoner of Azkaban has become my favorite I actually thing Goblet of Fire is my least favorite. *shrugs* I just wasn't too fond of it.

I liked The Goblet of Fire the most. I think it is because I loved the Triwizard Tourament and the Quiddich World Cup. Somehow The Order of the Phoenix was my lest fav. I expected more of it because loved TGOF a lot. ...And because my favourite character died!!

i don't think that. he was just very angry. I'm sure if the evilest guy in the world who murdered your parents came back to life, and the one person who you thought you could trust totally neglects you you'd be quite over emotional too. It's true there was a very angry vibe to the book, but it was still good, even though Sirius died *sniff sniff*

I think it just showed Harry going through the 'normal' growing up phase, and getting used to being the centre of attention. Even though he may not of liked it, he'd probably notice when it stopped.

Hmm, I don't think I have a favourite HP book, like someone said before, they were all good. I remember feeling very angry with what I dubbed Harry's superiority complex [or the "DIE Harry! Stop being an obnoxious TURD!" complex] the first time I read the book. But when I re-read it this week, it didn't bother me as much. I think Dark One's right about how it's just a 'typical teen' phase that's been exaggerated by Harry's unusual circumstances in life, and one which he will hopefully outgrow. I think I liked OotP because Harry actually did something wrong in it; he made an understandable but stupid mistake. And I like how he had to learn from that, and stop having such a "hero" fixation. However, having rushed to the boy's defence, I must beg the question, surely not all teenagers are that annoying? Are we really like that? Obnoxious and overly rash and at times judgemental? Argh, the depiction of Harry's "coming of age" made me cringe for my demographic. ;D

Well don't get a shock and die when I say this............
But I've never picked up a HP book at all, but I have seen the movies. What are the reasons for not wanting to read HP? Well it's that everyone dose and I'm not a person to conform to the ways of socity. The whole magic thing is all well and good but there is not enough explansion about it (from the stuff I've read around the net) When I have the addition of magic in a story I give an explansion as soon as the time is right and I can think about it. Not just wave a wond in a quire like way... Just my thoughts take it or leave it

but the books do explain some of the magic, and you can buy other books that go into more detail, such as 'The Science of Harry Potter'

like I said (or if I forgot to add it or it wasn't a sub-point) not my type of fatasy, something for Sci-fi is what I like Garth Nix did well with the Seventh Tower series and The Old Kingdom Trilogy (before you point out the fact that they aren't sci-fi I know.)
