The problem with all sitting around reading the book, would be some people read faster than others (like me, for instance, I hate sharing things to read cause I usually have time to read it twice by the time the other person's finished it) and then they'd be gasping and laughing and crying or whatever, and everyone else would be like "What?! Does she die?! Who dies?! Is it Rushton/Dameon? It is, isn't it?! TELL ME IT ISN'T" and then they'd either a) be spoiled or b) get there and be like "You gasped because she recognised the scent of daphne?!"

i read too,Dani.At my school we have this B.A.I.T reading thing and they've run out of prizes for me.I get invited to meet authors and stuff like that.On July 17 I'm going to the writers workshop.It runs for several days.I am so excited.
with silver ballons I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the deal with the launch is that's where you get the book from. It looked like from the Darksong launch that IC had Darksong on sale at the launch for people to buy and get signed.
I know it's going to be a noisy trip down there (we're renting a chartered mini bus for Obernet for sending launch, and going from Brisbane - down the east coast to Sydney - thru to Canberra, then to Melb) it'll be a VERY quiet trip home - we'll all be reading!
I think I'm just going to cry for hours and hours. I cried my little heart out when I finished His Dark Materials, and when I finished watching LotR, AND at the end of Star Wars. It's when final becomes FINAL.

lol, Min, you're absolutly right. On the way down, we're gonna be soooo noisy. Coming home, you'll be able to hear a pin drop!!
I really want it to come out though. A part of me doesn't want to know what happens at the end, but the majority of me HAS to know. Same with Darkbane. I'm re-reading Legendsong, and I know I'm gonna be left hanging, so I can't wait for Darkbane.
lol, freaky thing - At taekwondo last night, I got talking to one of the guys there, and one of his fav authors is IC!! So didn't expect that. We were just talking about how crap some english school books are, and he said that he had read up to Ashling of obernewtyn. And I was like "You've read Obernewtyn??" Big shock. He still hasn't gotten around to reading TKP yet, but I told him that he has to, and then go and get Legendsong as well ;D

actually, who am i kidding, it's usually Kayt, i'm very good at convincing her she should go get the coffee because *coughcough* i got it last time.... how do i know that's going to score me getting the coffee from now on... *sigh*
But you know what's the bugger, i might not even be here for it all!!! I'm *fingers crossed* going to be in America and the end of next year, i might miss all of this *sigh* although, i'm not panicked yet cuz IC hasn't exactly followed a timetable before..... |

Megana, that's so freaky! I was in the video store this afternoon too with Paul, he and I were talking about obernet, and the girl behind the counter gave us a kind of double-take look, like she knew what we were talking about, but wasn't sure she should say! I nearly said something...but yeah. I'm sure there are loads more people out there who love ober who just never make it here!!

sadly it's a 6 month exchange. It's the last chance i get to do it, and i can't afford to go at the beginning of next year, but i'll be able to manage the last half... sorry, it's the chance of a lifetime and i really want to go.... i just can't put it off for a book that might not even be coming out. I'm sorry, but IC has broken many release dates before, and i can't frankly trust her. I'lljust have to locate the American crowd... Elfseeker is from there, right? maybe we could try and have an msn chat, i don't know *shrugs* i might not even be going to America, i've gotta pass the panel of judging people before they give me acceptance, and i've also gotta batter my eyelids at a few campus house thingys to let me have a room..... god, i hope they don't have shared rooms, i'm not good at sharing....
