Woohoo! I just found a CD I made for my father a couple of years ago, featuring some of the artists I had just *discovered*. My boxes still haven't been delivered to my new address, so I'm enjoying some songs I haven't heard in months! A shortlist of some of the highlights:
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart Keane - Snowed Under The Stone Roses - Waterfall Haven - Say Something Electronic - Getting Away With It
*VERY HAPPY FOX*

Yes, Keane! The song "Snowed Under" should have been on the album instead of the b-side of "Somewhere Only We Know" - it's got fantastic lyrics including the line "all our hopes and fears", which is probably where the album's title came from. ATM - Soma, by The Strokes. I haven't heard much of their new album yet, but I get the feeling I'm going to end up preferring the first two ... any Strokes fans out there who can put my mind at rest. For the record, I really liked "Room on Fire", in stark contrast to most of the music critics.

I feel so poppy now, listening to The Kiss by Magic Dirt I have no clue about Keane, and I only own one Strokes CD.

My friend bought a pirated (tsk tsk) New Order CD in Malaysia and in addition to all the New Order tracks, there were all the songs from the Strokes Is This It on it. Very impressive. Haven't listened to the more recent ones yet so I can't help you there Firefox, alas.
The Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog. Cutest, video clip ever!

Fat Freddy's Drop - Ray Ray
I'm telling you, the New Zealand roots scene is severely underrated. I'm more of an indie fan, but this stuff is amazing.

Bwahaha. I'm listening to my music on shuffle and WHAM!'s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go just came on which just makes me think of freak petrol fight accidents in Zoolander.
