sorry but i realy want to put my opinion in here, i like the dining hall as it is. I like the fact that you can talk about random things, how your day was etc without it all getting too crazy... without 5000 posts being added a second so you never get to discuss anythign properly. I know it could be an idea to move this sort of dicussion i'm tlaking about the the memebrs board but then that gets a little cluttered too because the newbies get confused.
is there any way to save the dining hall from invasion from pschotic (but well meaning) ex-sus ridders?

I see your pint too elixa. What if we kept the dinning hall as is and opened a new section for the newer version of dud rid not the rp one? All the members maybe could vote for thei new identity like sus riders the unreal way or something and they still have there place to be crazy and do random things. elixa has a point that i never thought of. Would that be too much work? there could be two version of sus riders and they could be like a version of our different guilds but more general.

We did think of having Sus-Rid and Sus-Rid Plus, but for some reason we ditched the idea. I can't remember why.

ok im gonna say -reading bits and pieces of these 4 pages - that im wit lix - i dont want the old sr stuff to be in the dinning hall. everythin changes and as much as gettin the old SR back is good we also need somewhere seperate for hte new SR - well wat became SR. cos it just isnt a dinning hall thing! which is wat plenty of ppl have said. the probards have bin around for long enough that each section has its own flavour and its own ppl that visit! changin or altering any section is gonna upset ppl. i no change has to happen but i dont see how this sort of chage will benefit anyone. as HOD nad arien siad when they were being that random we moved then to SR cos it wasnt fiar to wat we were tryin to do here...the nature of SR is one that would remove the dining hall as it is now if its all moved here...

sorry i dont no where we got up to in this thread but that i somethin that i needed to say!

EDIT: flit ur opinon of the dinning hall is greatly different to mine. the dinning hall is for games not randomness, to me sr was for the randomness...dont mean to do a personal attack there. just had to make the comparison as this is wat im kinda tryin to say- everyone has a differnet perspective of that place and its influences by the amount of time u spend on it.

And kayt i support the idea of two sus rid's i do like the random threads about johnny and orlando. who doesn't. on the members board that would be needless clutter the members board is more for meets an news fow writing compls and suchlike. even though i not an acive sus ridian on either terms i think there should be to versions. i do like the dinning hall as it is. if worse came to worse i wouldn't mind if thethe newer sus rid moved here but things might get a little wild and herd to track which the new sus rid is.

I will accept the final decision whatever it is but we really shouldn't cut out the place where te new sus riders resided no more than the role playing thing should have been lost. In the end i am for two sus rids. i think it is the best idea and it will keep every one happy becuase their main place to reside is still there.

I agree with Lix and Miska. Like, Sus Rid got changed into this sus rid type spam fest, right? That is the probelm, right? But it was still home to a lot of people. So perhaps you guys could go with what Kayt suggested about a Sus Rid and a Sus Rid Plus that way BOTH types of sus-riddians will have homes.
And after all, thats what obernewtyn is about... it is a place where all types of misfits, regardless of their powers, can have a place to call home.

It is not right that we should lose members over this. i think the protest was a little extreme but it makes sene sinc that was a home for tegan and others. I think we have the issue on its ay to being solved though.

yes and no to her being right and worng. he made her point by doing what she did but it could have been done in better ways that terminating her own account. she could've done what HoD did. and yes she lost 600 posts but what if it was her sacrifice? okay maybe not. but there are two sides and the cuase to her leaving was valid but her actions were a little exteme to an extent.

I do regret loosing Tegan over this, seriously, i do, i liked having her around. But she saw to it to jump to too many conclusions without pausing to ask. She made Buneater out to be the anti-christ without asking why it was happening and everything.
I would welcome Tegan back if she came, but it is her choice. She left over such a silly reason, blew everything out of proportion, and chose not to listen and not to ask. So it was her choice *shrugs* I'll admit there were a few fractured communication links here, as with what tends to happen, but instead of doing what HOD and Arien did, she chose to launch an attack and then delete her account.
Her choice.
But like i said, i would welcome her back if she chose to come, but it's all up to her.

*grugs* I hate things being so flippy about here, and i'm so glad the rest of you are able to talk this through rationally, and stuff. We'll try to fix up the rest of the problems ASAP, so we can all go back to eating timtams in peace...

Well said Flit. I dunno about the others, but some of us have already called for a compromise of two sus-rids.

See what Frankie/Arien/Elixa etc did is good. They told us about the problem. They explained what they didn't like and they helped us to see other options.

Tegan was silly to delete her account. It was a protest but it didn't do much good, because we pretty much ignored it. And she attacked Buneater, which only made me angry at her.

I'm glad we're finding a way through this problem as a team. I hate it when things get tetchy here on Obernet.

Never mind. Anyway, I'm very proud of all of those who explained the situation and who are offering us help to work through this problem. It's no good just whinging and name-calling and being nasty. We have to work through it.

And Dani, I'm glad you have faith in the mods. Avra, Clare, Min and Buneater work so hard to make Obernet what it is. We wouldn't have any sus-rid or obernet at ALL without them working as hard as they do.
