Elspeth deserves better? If anything, i think Elsepth deserves worse. She put Rushton through a lot of pain, you know She treated him like dirt for a while, and avoided him and pretended to be uninterested. The poor guy was there, totally in love, and she was completely cold to him.
and DAMEON! gah! Elspeth doesn't deserve Dameon!!!If she hurt Rushton, imagine what she'll do to HIM!!!

We all do. She was quite a horrible character in Ashling. Poor Rushton, he didn't know what to do! I mean Elspeth sunk so low that she thought Rushton was dallying with Freya, even though Freya was just trying to help Rushton. Poor Rushton! And imagine what Elpseth would do to poor Dameon!

i would just like to make it clear, that i have nothing against elf. She was scared, and in result, very cold. I'm not excusingf her behaviour, but i know i've acted a little like that before... not to that extreme... but still... i understand where she was coming from

Elfie was just really scared about what she felt. Honest to god, if you were in love with someone like that who kept on doing weird little things that showed how much he cared, you'd be rather scared. She thinks that she cannot fall in love with anyone cos it'll get in the way of her quest. But I think, that elf really does love rushton AND NO BL**DY BLIND EMPATH IS GOING TO RUIN THAT!

I so agree! Rushton and Elf love each over. Whereas Dameon loves Elf, but Elf doesn't return that love.
In Obernewtyn you can tell that Rushton was falling in love with Elspeth already, even before the mindbond thing at the end of the book. Rememeber how he comforted Elf when Jes died and he rescued Elf from that machine and he helped her at the end. They are so meant to be with eachover. ;D
