Dameon always loved Elf?

Just curious as to how obvious it is in the books...

I thought it was blatant, figured it out first time, but it seems it's more of a subtle undertone.

No really... I read all of the books before I came here, many of them twice, and had NO IDEA he ever had any feelings for her... maybe thats because I have alot of close guy friends and I don't see Elf and Damo as more then that...

It didn't even dross my mine that Damo was staying in Sador after the battlegames because it hurt him that Rushton and Elspeth were together...

It wasn't until I got to obernet that I started to see what was right in front of my face!

KSL - you thought the whole thing was obvious... When did you first see signs that he had feelings for her... It couldn't have been all the way back in "Obernewtyn" (the book) when they first met could it?!

Perhaps my mind is more attuned to romance. No, I picked it up in Ashling.
The scene that first aroused my suspicions and which cemented my hatred of Rushton is when Elf and Dameon meet up in Dragon's room after Maryon sends the gang off to Sutrium. You know the one I mean!
And Rushton says something like "Well, if the tender reintroductions are complete" or whatever it was he said.

And something suddenly went DING DING DING!!!
But it became cyrstal clear in Sador.
Rushton: Dameon, I... I know why you would remain here.
Dameon: Then you know why you must let me stay.

It became so clear to me then what was going on!

Perhaps my love of Dameon clouded my thinking (and I've been an established Damo supporter since the day I picked up Obernewtyn- for I read it in one night)

Do Dameon supporters pick it up quicker, perhaps? Or is there no one else who WAS a Damo supporter from the start.

ZThey did in the first book yes. but i think they kept the farms and worked on them after the firsst book too.

that's after they are hugging cause of the loss of matthew... I admit, it is a bit harsh...

And it is harsh. VERY harsh, and totally uncalled for.

And I've hated Rushton ever since.

I've read that bit in Sador like 100000000 times and it still never clicked... I was too busy falling over myself because of the Ravek scene!

I hated Rushton after the whole Freya thing on the boat but then the Ravek scene came along... So now I just hate Freya...

Yes but i saw the light. I do wish that dameon and elf would get together but we both see that that is unlikely. and rushton did get the girl.

Now what are we discribing love as. Is it an love as with in a Marriage (sometimes not even then) or the other love between friends which is the only love that i see between Damo and Elf, but I do think that Damo is the Kasanda's (sp?) blood thingo. I'll mumble elsewhere now.

i voted for the second one... when i read the part where Rushotn says something along the lines of 'i know why you went to Sador' to Damo, i thought 'ok, what's that all about???' and started thinking...and then yeah...i kinda thought 'Does Dameon love Elf? ....nah' and dismissed the thought! Until i came here...and i realised i was right!! meh!

yeah i did too...actually maybe it was a bit inaccurate.
the thought kind of crossed my mind, but like others, i was too busy being annoyed that elf and rushton were taking so long!! and when rushton was with freya? well she doesnt love him, coz she loves ceirwan! (i like ceirwan, he is a nice boy ) yes so anyway, i wasnt annyoed at rushton, elf had been so cold ot the poor guy! i was annyoed her, coz it was obvious she loved him but she was being so stupid about it!!!

ah but then finally she came ot her senses!

but i think there is not doubt that damo loves elf. its been confirmed by IC TWICE and once you think about it that way, there are ALOT of clues, esp in ashling....


BUT RUSHTON IS THE ONE SHE LOVES!!!!
