That sounds like so much fun, Cière. What a pity we grow out of games. Although, I have to admit, I do like games as much as I did when I was a kid - I just don't have the chance to play them any more. ;D Who says we have to grow out of having fun? I hope that when I have kids old enough to join in the fun that they'll hide eggs for me - then the fun will never end ;D

We did easter hunts when we were little. I remember one year when I'd found out that the easter bunny wasn't real, I still wanted to make easter exciting for my little bro (I was like 8, he was 6), so I got up really early on easter morning and did this stencil of a rabbit footprint on a piece of paper, and then sprinkled powder over the stencil to create white footprints in a trail. I can't remember if it was my idea though Now it's just like HUZZUH for 4 days off work! Easter has no meaning to anyone in my family any more.

We never did the Easter bunny thing. My family isn't incredibly religious, or anything, but my parents just couldn't stand the idea of the Easter bunny. After all, what does a rabbit have to do with eggs? It's a bit of a weird association, really. So we just had the eggs and the picnic and little chicken toys. Who says we have to grow out of having fun? Not me! Not really. But you seem to have less and less time for having fun as you get older, unless you make an effort. And I intend to make that effort.

I want little kids so I can see them get all excited over the eater bunny and santa cause it's just not as exciting anymore. And I'm the youngest so I can't even keep it alive for any younger siblings (which my brother never did for me... b*stard...) Like, i love getting presents and being together as a family and everything at Christmas, but like last year at easter the highlight of my day was at lunch when my scout leader was giving out easter eggs and my friend (who was about 11 or 12 at the time) has come up to me and gone "Chris, the Easter Bunny's bald"
She said it in a little kids voice too, it was hilarious...
This is making me want chocolate...

I think it has something to do with cute rabbits. I was far more a rabbit person than a chicken person *points at Kayt's sig bunnies* awwwwww! As for the association between rabbits and eggs...no idea. How would the rabbits carry the eggs? They don't have pouches!

Chickens are cool. But on looking for an easter toy for Ellie yesterday I found no chikens. I found rabbits (ofcourse), sheep and ducks in the easter plush toy display.
So maybe ducks are responsible for easter eggs which rabbits then harvest. But that still leaves the question: where do the sheep come in?

Hehe - where do the sheep come in? Ah, Raineth, truly that shall become the question of our lifetime. Where DO the sheep come in? Will we ever know the answer?
;D

Well Buneater if you don't know the answer I'm sure there's not much hope out there of ever finding it out. I had a sheep once but she never mentioned anything to me about secret sheep easter business, maybe its restricted information Raineth

Was it a lamb or a sheep?
The reason they have rabits is because it sybolises new life and Jesus was reborn at Easter (and it's a rabbit because how many other animals reproduce that fast?).
I guess a lamb would be along the same lne as it's a new animal. We have the eggs as well because new life comes from eggs.
Or at least that's what my RE teachers have always told me...

And dredging up my religious info from Pastoral lit and art last year, Christ is also known as the shepherd - because of the analogy he uses about his flock and savign the wayward lamb. And the fact that in some wasy he is a 'sacraficial lamb'. I hope I didnt mess that up too much. I'm tryign desperately to learn abotu Christian history and symbology at the moment for biblical studies and Renaissance Art thsi semester. We're expected to have a good workign knowledge of the bible, which I don't have. And to answer the original question, my answer is basically the same as Ashta's Except that the rest of my family is Anglican, and as they respect my beliefs, I respect thiers, so, jsut liek at Christmas time, we sort of celebrate both, or at least aknowledge both.
