IC is working on The Sending at the moment, and said that she would be finished by the end of this year. And it takes a while to edit and everything. And in her speech, IC was talking about the terrible cover for the first edition of Obernewtyn!! It truly is terrible, we have it at my school  And she loves Obernet and Carmody Online! She says they are fantastic sites, but she can't go on them much as she doesn't have the internet. And she doesn't live in that house on stilts on the Great Ocean Road, I asked. If any of you have been driving down the Great Ocean Road, you would probably have notcied that house on stilts! |

Ah, groovyness - I'll go and read the other report after lunch, although I'm looking forward to reading yours tomorrow. And RubyInnle - don't worry that your theories have been proved false by Isobelle. Fanfic is about "what if?" and if yours asks "what if Gavyn was Lidgebaby and Ariel was Salamander?" then that's fine. If your enjoying writing your fanfic, then keep writing it. Why change her mind I wonder...*ponders* Well, Jes's death is only actually implied in Obernewtyn, so maybe, subconsciously, she needed him to stay alive and the questions she's constantly being asked have opened up a sub-plot deep in her mind that she didn't even know was there... Or maybe not. I can't wait to have all these questions answered at last. October 2006 can't come quickly enough. |

Fair enough, but I remember getting a specific answer back on that question in a letter - no, Jes is dead. It would be interesting if he was alive and it basically opens up a facinating parallel story (I'd written to her that if Jes was alive, could he be the destroyer eg both have killing power blah blah blah). But no, he was dead.
So that just gets me thinking...could she have abandoned the original idea and be turning Jes into the Destroyer?!
This is probably for the theories board...*runs off there*

and she's writing little kids books that I can then read to Leo and Ellie and start their obsession early! Yipee!
and 2006 is actually better than this year for us, it will mean I can definately get to the launch!
Its just the waiting thats will be hard.

raineth, shes actually got a few childrens books already, the ones i know of (well i think theyre all childrens books, im getting the names from my notes from an assignment for school about 2 yrs ago) the red shoes, landlord and dreamwalkers, there are more too but i dont know their names
maybe i should be buying one for my niece's birthday, she wanted me to read some of obernewtyn to her a while ago but she wasnt paying attention
