Alan Rickman is hot, but not as Snape. I had imagined Lupin looking scholarly rather than nerdy, but I thought he worked regardless. He's supposed to contrast with Sirius' dashing wildness and does.

Yeah I think he's a tinsie bit creepy too. I've seen him in... oh what was it Sense and Sensibilty maybe? One of the Jane Austin Novel movies... he is definitely not good looking, but I love his voice. Makes him perfect for the bad guy

Yeah, Sense and Sensibility...EWW!!! Kate Winslett is supposed to be a free spirit!!! I was so scandalised when she ended up with Alan Rickman's character! Loved all their accents...you know what I did like about that movie? The photo right at the beginning of Harry's parents dancing! That was so sad  but it was beautiful. Have to say the movie was a little better seeing it today - I dragged the Stanthorpian lads along (since it's basically the only thing showing at the moment  ) just to make sure I really didn't like it. It was *better*, but I still don't like Alfonso's interpretation. |

haaha about the Ewan thing, or the gay thing?? or both.
it's jsut that Lupin seemed like such a Dandy, it made me thing about Lord Henry from Oscar Wildes 'the picture of dorian gray" or dorian for that matter

But I think Lupin's character seems potentially gay in the books. He might be or he might not be. He is a little Lord Henry, isn't he?
But it's not like it's a scientific thing. Some people you would never pick as gay, and some people you would pick AREN'T, so it's really impossible to tell. Unless there's some development that makes it more clear, I choose to assume that it's his private matter and not make a guess either way

Did anyone notice that they changed Harry's dad?! That was kinda good though, cause his dad is meant to be handsome, but in the first movie he looks more like a little nerd. I'm kinda happy with that! I still say Lupin looks creepy! |

I am 18 too, tured last october. I read Dorian Gray after i did Salome as my yr12 monologue and though Oscar Wilde was ohh so cool. I loved the book, it was aimed so high, for once my vocabulary was actually stretched, he was so verbose.
